<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">First and foremost for the other A.I., it means some rest.

"I was exhausted, so I just tried to get some rest these last 2 days and get back on track," Iguodala said after the team's 2-hour practice at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine last night.

"I think it does add a little confidence, going into a game in an NBA setting and you do well in a game like that; it does boost your confidence," he said.

"Also, just knowing that we have to get things turned around. Just me feeling like I can help the team get back on track, that's about confidence, too."

Only problem is that this team hasn't really been on track at all this season. Promising wins get overshadowed by agonizing losses. The prime example is the team's overtime win last week against the defending champ San Antonio Spurs, followed the next night by a 33-point blowout in Chicago against the Bulls, a team the Sixers are trying to stay ahead of for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Still, Iguodala thinks his newly found confidence will help him and his team.

"I'm going to be a little more aggressive," he said. "Sometimes, I'm laid-back and just watch. I want to be a little bit more aggressive on both ends of the court. And be the third option on the scoring end and attacking the basket. I'm not really worried [about the lack of shots]. I can't fault anybody but myself. Like I said, I have to be a little bit more aggressive and attack more than I have been."

After all, the first two options, Iverson and Webber, average nearly 45 shots combined.

Amazingly, after 52 games, the team is still searching for consistency and cohesiveness. With only 30 games remaining, that now might be as hard to figure out as the judging in the dunk contest.

"[Most important], I think, is for us to try and get some consistent play on the offensive end and the defensive end and go out and play as hard as we can," coach Maurice Cheeks said. "We can't have a game like we played against San Antonio and then have a game like we played against Chicago. Those two different spectrums are not gonna cut it."

Did the break bring on a change of philosophy for the coach?</div>

It's about damn time! Now AI and C-Webb must realize that and try to involve him a little more. Looks like him lossing to Nate Robinson wasn't so bad after all. Iggy SEEMS to have a little more fire in him. Hey if Smith was able to take it to a next level after last years dunk contest(aka PUBLICITY) no reason why Iggy can't especially after he was cheated of it.

Id love to see him get atleast 15 shots in some games,Im sure he's gonna make most of his opportunities. He has all the tools to become a great player in the league and hopefully one of the best players in the history of the 76ers,he just needs to be agressive.Hope he's gonna be able to do it against the Cavs.

I love this, but honestly I'll wait until I see it consistently from Iguodala. If he wants more shots, he needs to show AI and Webber that he will be more aggressive offensively, not just say it.

I'd like to see him become like John Salmons for a stretch of a few minutes. Just look to score whenever you get the ball, don't worry about anything else. Not the entire game, but for a few minutes here and there until he can find his groove between playing within the offense, and being aggressive.

He has realized that because of his performances in Houston, he has gotten more media attention, and now he must start producing better.

    I can't wait until tonight's game!

P.S. You got me a little too excited with the title of the thread, Avery. I came in expecting to hear of a trade, but I guess not... [IMG]

Anybody see the list of past rookie-sophmore game MVP's? They are all stars that they showed. I hope Iggy follows right in line, I cant wait to see what he does tonight.

    Yeah it's great

Even more amazing Iggy joine the 30 Point club joinging the ranks of Kobe Bryant, Amare Stoudemire, and Gilbert Arenas. That's good company right there! Not to mention Iguodala is an AMAZING defensive player

that's good to hear. i really think that iggy can be a pretty good offensive player if he is given the ball more. i think he has some handles and may be able to drive to the hoop and score in the paint. in order to do that, he must get the ball, so it is good to know. btw, avery, when i read the heading i thought that a good trade had just happened. lol.

Andre has potential, but he still has a ways to go before he reaches his full potential. He needs to work on his ballhandling, creating his own shot, and finishing at the basket. Besides dunks, he really is not able to finish around the basket in traffic.

His defense is nothing spectacular at this point, but he has all the tools to be a lock-down defender. He could honestly become a Ron Artest type player where he has an impact both offensively and defensively, but he isn't the headcase that Artest is.

At the same time, though, at this point I don't see him becoming a guy to build a team around. He's more of a second option at best, but hopefully he can prove me wrong.

To his credit, he has a very strong work ethic, and will try to improve his game in every aspect he can.

Oh wow this scared me for a second, I thought the Sixers traded Iverson [IMG]

Great to hear though, maybe the dunk contest will get Iggy more involved being that he'll be pissed...

Iggy got 12 Points at halftime. Let's hope he finishes with at least 20. Oh and I hate you CK. Does it make things any better that AI got 8 assists at halftime? [IMG]

Well I’m glad to hear he plans on being more aggressive, but I hope that doesn’t mean he will become reckless with his shot selection. Although, I was impressed with what he did in the rookie game, in terms of the numbers he amounted, he really did not do anything different from what he has been doing all year. He needs to get a mid range shot. Every single 76ers game this year his shot selection has consisted of the corner three pointer, dunks, and lay ups he really does not shoot that many mid range shots. If he did it consistently and hit them then he would be an incredible third option.

I'd have to disagree, I see Dre has developed a mini go-to move and it is when the 76ers dump the ball to him on the baseline, and he has that move that usually gets him a close short range jumper.

I do agree with the fact that he definitely needs to develop his mid range game. You usually don't see him taking a mid range jumper, and thats the lost art in todays NBA. Players who have a mid range game are always the best scorers in the league these days, so if Dre wants to be complete I tihnk his goal should be is to develop that consistent mid range J.

But as far as this season goes, I really think All Star weekend awakened him. It is going to be the turning point of his season, look for his numbers to go up!

AI2 definitely needs to be more aggressive...he can be that solid, consistent 3rd wheel alongside Webber and AI...

None of you have said this, but Andre has a very nice post move that I haven't seen him miss in the past 2 or 3 games.

He has a post move, but I have seen him miss plenty of times. Usually he'll just get around the guy, or get fouled on the play... but he has missed it. I'm not comfortable with that being his go-to move, which it is at this point. He needs to develop a go-to move to create his own shot from the perimeter as well, but I like him posting up smaller guys.

Are you talkking about the one that he always posts up on the right side of the court and dribbles about twice and pumps fake twice and then fading it?

Well sense I think the 76ers are dead in the water, the only thing I really care about is seeing Dre finish the season really good.
