and have his contract, with AI's and c-webb's? your crazy. the guy is also probably one or two knee injuries away from being the next chris webber.

I know but why not, they are keeping AI anyway so its obvious they still think they can contend for a championship. If your not trading AI, then why not try and pick up some players who can actually help the team? I know it would be a risk, but at this point, what do the 76ers have to lose? They aren't contenders, and they aren't rebuilding either.

yeah, but you never know. maybe BK will somehow, some way come to his senses and trade away AI, or at least start his rebuilding process next year. if we trade for K-Mart, it would practically be impossible for us to rebuild since we will have to take on his contract AND chris webbers. not to mention if AI doesnt get traded...........

also, i dont think that k-mart would really fit for us. i mean, what would the starting line up look like? i would imagine that you let AI and Chris and Kenyon start, so would kenyon play center? that would be a disaster IMO. chris play small forward? he would get killed all day on defense.

dont forget that kenyon needs his touches too. we already have AI and Chris who need the ball a lot to be effective, and if we trade for another big ego, then kenyon would want his touches too, thus leading to arguments and a ruined lockerroom. you also have to take into consideration that if the expirement doesnt work out, it would be nearly impossible to trade away chris and kenyon due to their contracts

What do they have to lose? By bringing in Martin's contract, the organization would basically put them even lower into salary cap hell. In fact, it would no doubt make us the faux or pseudo Knicks in the league. Although they aren't doing the whole scrap up and rebuild thing, I think Billy King wants to gradually ease the young players into the team, sort of what the Spurs did with Manu and Tony Parker I guess. Adding another max contract would completely and utterly close the window actually getting good players in the future through free agency since if I remember correctly, his contract runs pretty long. His, along with Iverson's and Webber's would basically cripple our team. I'm all for taking risks, but not when you're trading for a max contract when you already have two huge contracts on the team.

I agree. I'm torn between trading AI and rebuilding, and hoping for the young guys to develop enough to where we can be in atleast the second tier of teams in the East and AI does not have to do as much as he does right now.

Ultimately, one of the biggest things that is hanging over the organization's head is the Barkley trade. They do not want to go through another debacle like that, and who can blame them.

Trading a superstar is never an easy decision, and should be thought about completely before doing anything. Management first needs to decide whether they want to rebuild, contend now, or what... then they can go from there.

Well, don't be too disappointed tomorrow when you see that the Sixers have done nothing... because that is probably exactly what will happen.
