Did the Suns trade Marion for KG? LakersGround.net, some people are reporting it...Nash..KG..Amare..oh lord..

    Can anyone verify this?

I doubt it has gone down. If it did, I'm sure it would be all over the news at this point. That trade also makes no sense, as Marion is much better suited for Phoenix's style of play than KG is.

If you didn't hear it from ESPN, don't expect it to happen.

I don't trust ESPN. I trust Fox, and SI. Waiting for an announcement. I'm thinking some idiot just made up a rumor, but if not, this is F'ing crazy. Nash, KG, and Amare.

That can't be true, but boy, if it was. Wow!

I think we could tab them the favorite.

Salaries don't work for a straight up deal. Suns would need to give up another $5M in salary.

A frontline of Amare and KG would be insane, but I'm not sure they want to mess with chemistry at this point. Marion is one of the key parts of the Suns ability to play their frenetic pace, plus he's younger than KG. Production wise, Marion is just as consistent as KG and is a double-double machine.

I have checked on both ESPN.com and Foxsports and cannot see anything to say that this trade has gone down. They are still talking about KG going to the Lakers.

Apparently, the Channel 10 News station in Phoenix brought this deal to light. They interviewed Marion and he was aware of the situation, and said he understands the business side of it, but wants to remain a Sun.

They asked him if he took his anger out on the Celtics by scoring 44 tonight.

lol.. I laugh at all y'all who don't think KG's built for the Suns' style of play.. What even makes you think that? KG's practically a super-sized guard, why wouldn't he be able to run?

A trio of Nash + Marion + Amare is pretty damn good, BUT a trio of Nash + Amare + KG is f'n unholy.. NO ONE will wanna play them!

Don't let Minnesota's recent streak of shittiness fool you into believing that KG ain't still one of the best in the league.. Marion might be the most underrated player in the league and he might bring crazy intangibles to every game, but KG's f'n KG! I don't know what y'all are smoking if you're a Suns fan and don't want that trade to go down..

This rumour is completely false. I laughed when I heard It.

The Wolves are not shopping KG, or they weren't as of 8.00 last night.

Neither would fit in the other systems. KG needs the ball and anytime he has the ball that means Nash doesn't. Which is not what the Suns are about. Looks great on paper but the Suns are far better with Marion. Who one could argue is having just as good of a season as KG.

I wouldn't give up marion for kg. Not the way marion has been playing this year, and as other people have mentioned his style fits the suns tempo better than KG would. Plus I just like the guy, I'd hate to see him leave.

I'm a huge KG fan. But this would be a bad trade. Why mess with a good... no, a really great thing. KG would bring alot, but Marion I think fits better. Besides, I don't think for a second it will happen.

I think if KG for Marion would go through, it would be clearly benefitial for the Suns. However I would feel kind of bad for Marion who has worked hard for the Suns and does all the little things for the team as well as improves chemistry.

I like KG, but he can't really do the same things for the Suns that Marion can. With Amare back, it would be a good trade for them, but right now, I don't think KG wins them more games than Marion is right now.

^ Oh yeah.. I completely agree with that.. I don't think replacing Marion with KG right now would equate to a better team.. I'm just merely salivating at what would happen when Amare comes back and you have a front line tandem of KG & Amare!

Now that the trade never happened (I was highly skeptical but it was fun to dream nonetheless.. just even thinking of it is insane!).. What happens if this trade is revisited in the summer.. If it's actually something substantial and discussed.. What if the Suns with a healthy Amare back does not win the Championship? Would you not consider a KG for Marion swap?

Yes I would, easily makes the best frontcourt in the league.
