<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">East Valley Tribune - According to sources in Toronto, Raptors management is ?excited and optimistic? that Bryan Colangelo will soon become their team?s next president and general manager. An aggreement could be in place as soon as Friday ? but Suns managing partner Robert Sarver says he will attempt to keep Colangelo in Phoenix. Two sources said when Colangelo first told Sarver of Toronto?s interest, the Suns owner lost his temper and told Colangelo to get out of his office. Later, the sources said, Sarver told Colangelo he wasn?t interested in a contract extension and granted Colangelo?s request to talk to the Raptors. </div> Full Article
That would be excellent news for Raptors fans if we get him to sign a contract with us. Especially since it appears we are going to have some healthy space under the cap.
I'm excited about this, but in this morning's star, they mentioned that he was the president.general manager of the Phoneix Suns, and twice it said "he would probably get the same title in Toronto." Is the star implying that colangelo would be the President of all Basketball operations and that Peddie will only deal with hockey?

Embry said himself he does not want to be the long term GM, so of course he wouldn't get mad. I am ecstatic about Bryan Colangelo as our GM, I'll call it we're contenders in 3 years!!!
Dont get too excited now guys... With our luck maybe he wont even sign with us and this is just a strategie to get more money from Phoenix. I sure hope he'll be with us by next week but i wont get too excited until i c a report saying that he signed with us.
That's awesome news for the Raptors...they have nice, young talent but they need the proper direction and leadership from management, and Colangelo is more than able of supplying that...
This move would be terrific but don't get ahead of yourselves. The raps wont be winning championships anytime soon unless they really get a clutch go to SG to go alongside Bosh. An inside outside duo like that can get you a championship. The problem is that they do not have a sg like that yet and probably will be hard pressed to find one in the upcoming years. Hopefully they don't waste Bosh's best years.
this is good news for you, and bad news for me. i was hoping he could take over as gm for the sixers or the lakers, but congrats if he does accept the job. he will be a huge upgrade to rob babacock
