The last two seeds in the west are held by the Lakers and memphis, do you think the rockets have enough to overtake any of these two. and if so which one?

Their 4.5 behind the Lakers right now. NOK is at the seven spot.

I think that Memphis is the better team of the bottom three.
I also think those teams are playing at their ceiling, meaning I dont think they can get that much better to seperate themselves.

With Sac. getting Artest and Utah getting Boozer back, they might be the two best teams of the five between the Rockets and the 8 spot.

Rockets just have to keep winning or it wont matter what either team does.

^^^yeah I agree....I mean you really can't be worried too much about what other people are doing at this point, you just have to out and play hard and win every night.

I wouldn't count the Warriors out of the playoff race for now, or any other team for that matter.

The Rockets shouldn't be looking at the standings so closely right now. They should just take it one game at a time and try their hardest, and if come April, we're in a position to take over, then it's good. If not, at least we can salvage something good out of this disaster of a season.

If you haven't noticed, I'm now a firm believer of playing our hardest. Tanking the season is not so desirable to me anymore.

after san antonio, dallas and phoenix, everyone else is a cinderella story. can you honestly say the clippers are better than a healthy houston? or that memphis are better than a surging NOK? Didn't think so. it should be dogfight in April.

I think we'll eventually knock out the Lakers and possibly even the Hornets...

As long as there is the slightest and remotest chance of this team making the playoffs then nobody should give up and continue to play hard and play better than ever before.

Forget the critics and forget the odds just focus and in the end it will pay off.

I don't know. Possibilities are endless. Maybe 6 feet ain't so far down, or maybe it is, who knows. If rockets keep gettin raped by top tier teams I think we shouldn't make the playoffs.

We will knock out the lakers and i firmly believe that we can do it. I believe we have a good head coach that can bring out great defence and maybe eventually offence with fastbreaks in this team. Him and his staff has developed yao to the stage that i am confident we can beat any given team any given day in the playoffs. An agressive yao ming is a scary thing. With mcgrady it could finally be a dynesty if we get the #8 spot this year. plus with the extra rest for mcgrady to clear his head and let his body recooperate i could see us going real far. Our bench also looks better now with bogans their and possiblily sura comming back.

Houston has a chance of passing Memphis only. The Hornets are for real and Memphis has been on a slide for a while now. The Lakers are probably going to end up the seventh seed so I wish Houston fans good luck with the Number 1 in the playoffs. I think Memphis will become the odd man out in this whole thing because of inconsistency. As far as Houston being better than the Clippers-- I don't know its hard for me to tell how good this Houston team is because of injuries.

You say that like there is no way it can be done. Lakers are the 8th seed right now. They lost to the clippers pretty bad the other day. Lamar Odom had his touch and lost it during the game. Lakers can make the playoffs, but only if Kobe starts passing that ball around and getting 45 ppg and more than 2 assists when he does get 45 +.
