<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Cavaliers and Seattle Supersonics have agreed in principal on a trade involving Sonics shooting guard Flip Murray and Cavs backup point guard Mike Wilks.

The deal was struck before Thursday's 3 p.m. trading deadline and is expected to be announced later in the day, according to an NBA source.

Murray, in his fourth season, is averging 9.9 points per game for Seattle, including a 29-point effort against Boston on Dec. 26. In his career, he averages 9.6 points per game.

Wilks has seen little playing time as the Cavs third point guard behind Eric Snow and Damon Jones. He is averaging just over one point per game.</div>

That's a pretty good value trade I think.. Flip has showed flashes of being a very good scorer.. Remember when he shined with Ray Allen out? Not a bad trade at all.. He could provide a scoring punch off the bench..

It's an excellent trade for the Cavs, especially with Hughes out for the rest of the regular season. Flip is another player who can fill up the basket and be on the receiving end of LeBron James passes.

I was hoping to see Ferry send Damon Jones off somewhere but i'm satisfied with the moves that he made today...

Amazing deal for the Cavs. Flip is the most underrated player in the league IMO. He should be starting somewhere, but now in Cleveland hopefully he can do something and be productive.

great move by the Cavs...gives them a reliable backup for Lebron and also gives them instant offense and someone who can create...

There is nothing reliable about Flip when he isn't getting consistent minutes but he is one of the most talented offensive players in the league when he is not looking over his shoulder.

Anyone who knows me on this site knows how much I pull for Flip, but at the end of the day he needs to be more productive than he has been the past two seasons for him to warrant the praise that I've bestowed upon him on this website. At one point in time I believed that he had superstar talent, but now I am more inclined to say that he has starters potential.

This kid is as tough minded as they come and I'm hopeful that he flourishes as a Cav. But for that to happen Coach Brown really has to put his faith in Murray that he is capable of playing extended minutes without the fear that he will get pulled if he isn't able to put the ball in the hole the moment that he steps on the court.

--And for the record Cavs fans Flip can play great defense when he is motivated. It just so happens that in Seattle he was never really pushed to guard his man every possession. I think that he will definitely surprise some fans with his talents on both ends.

Just from watching the Detroit game today, Flip was an absolute steal.. He adds a dimension that Damon Jones and Eric Snow just don't bring.. He was able to penetrate pretty well and finish pretty well.. Was he great? Nah.. but I'll give that to the Pistons' D.. Let's just see him get acclimated and then see how he does against other teams..

From the way Snow and Damon have been sucking, it ain't a stretch for me to see Flip starting.. Especially if Hughes was back.. Hughes and LeBron would handle the ball enough that a normal PG wouldn't be needed..
