AFC EAST 1. Miami Dolphins (2-1) - Who would of thought that Gus Frerrotte still had it in him? I can't say that i'm entirely surprised that the Dolphins are showing signs of becoming a competitive team, i mean Saban can very well be the next Don Shula.....or not, but he's still a very good coach. Ronnie Brown is showing some good signs. He might have Ricky looking for a job very soon. *cough* ARIZONA *cough*. The defense is playing very well with Zach Thomas leading the league in tackles. As long as this team keeps playing on this level, they should easily finish 2nd in this division....or 1st. 2. New England Patriots (2-2) - The injury bug is striking once more for the first 21st century dynasty, giving Bilicheck another challenge to overcome. At this point and time, i would honestly consider him the best coach EVER if he got this team back to the SB, or even the playoffs. The Patriots will definitely find a way to strike back and with Tom Brady still behind the center, it really shouldn't be that difficult, but they did lose their first home game in 2 years. Times could be changing, but probably not just yet. They need Corey Dillon to make more of an impact, also their run defense needs to play big against big time RB's. LT just makes it look too easy i guess. 3. New York Jets (1-3) - I said it in the beginning of the year and i'll say it again, this Jets team is not going to make the playoffs and they'll be luckey to finish 7-9. I liked Chad Pennington when he first came into the league, but he has an injury bug and it will most probably end his career sooner than he thought. The Jets run defense isn't too impressive yet, and with all this fumbling around at the QB position, i don't see them catching up, unless, this is long shot now, unless Fiedler plays like an all pro QB, which is unlikely, but hey you never know. I think it's safe to say they're pretty much in Barney............Rubble?.....Barney Rubble???..........Trouble...... 4. Buffalo Bills (1-3) - QB J.P. Losman is not stepping up to the plate for this young Buffalo team and their run defense isn't helping out too much either. They finished the 2004 season off with a bang last year and were, in my eyes, a playoff contending team coming into this year.....but that is looking distant so far for this Bills team. Losing Takeo Spikes isn't going to help much and with Melarky starting to do the QB shuffle, it's not looking any brighter for the Bills. I think if they can just get McGahee to carry the load they'll have a better chance of Losman molding into an NFL QB.
Yeah, i agree totally, Nick Saban is showing signs of a decent head coach, for a team to turn around like the Dolphins are doing he must be doing something right! The jets will finish last in this division, with Bollinger it looks like they have no confidence in him and the only reason he is there is because they need someone! they are 1-3, let him throw the ball and this offensive line needs to block for curtis martin although saying that, martin might just be on the way out. He has had 8 tough seasons in the nfl, it does take it's toll.

U didnt percieve what was gonna happen. If Chad was really healthy and could pass the ball without limited plays then the running game would pick up. Now with Bollinger its worse cause teams know that the Jets dont trust him as much and its even more limited unfortunatly. So they stack the line and presto no running game. The thing that made their offense a good offense last year is because of so much balance between the running and passing. They ran it, making teams stack the line, then they passed it again for yardage, making the D change their strategy again, and the when they werent stacking the line they ran it again. Now with them stacking it the whole time there is no room to run. Their defense is playing fine and creating TOs. They are the only way the Jets can make plays. Vs the ravens they recovered a fumble to the 1 and the Jets couldnt score. Bad playcalling. Their defense is the heart and only good part of their team. but with QBs switching around there is not gonna be much happening ur right about that. But saying that they would be the same team while they are all healthy is ridiculous.

I thought they would be but Pennington could throw a bullet if his life depended on it and you know it. OI watched every game this year I can throw faster now :cheesey:

Both Ronnie & Ricky will around for along time to terrorize the AFC East. Its nice to have a coaching staff that actually coaches. I predicted Miami to go 7-9. 8 if they get a few breaks. Now, I see no reason why 8 wins isn't possible. I am not expecting Gus to set the world on fire. His performance so far is head & shoulders above what Feidler did or Feeley might have done. As long as the OL continues to improve, things will get better on offense. DT worries me somewhat as does the CB position. Otherwise, the D is their perennial bad self.
alright even with Pennington they werent gonna be that good as people have said overhyping them as superbowl contenders i didnt even do that. But certainly not as bad as Bleed said in the beginning of the season, they've got a shut down d to anchor them. But u know what i dont like how the coaches are callin the plays either. I mean they couldnt even get the ball in the endzone from the 1 yesterday. Thats ridiculous. They had a chance of wildcard with a healthy team but only cause of their defense. Their offense is getting old and bad and i think they have to rebuild that part of that team because its going nowhere. An injury free starting QB would help. Leinart?? lol
