<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriorsfan:</div><div class="quote_post">JRICH 7TH 3 POINTER!!!!! man where wuld we be without him</div> We'd be up the proverbial creek without a paddle. It's incredible JRich hitting so many. Now if the Warriors start moving the ball more so they can get better shots.
7 3-pointers! Jrich must be autistic! Warriors are going perimeter again and man we'd be winning if we could at least hit 70% from the free throw line. What is this garbage? J-Rich is shooting free throws worse than Darius Miles and Antoine Walker combined.
So did Ike get hurt? What's the deal? And why can't we guard opposing PF's??? Our lumbering big men can't even guard jump shooters. Also is it wise for Monty to leave in Pietrus when its so close like this? Damn... 11-19 from the free throw line... disgusting! If we lose, this was a reason why. Dunleavy 0 for 2. Richardson 4 for 8. Ugly.
Obviously, that wasn't the right idea, but who cares the team failed. A decent foul shooting team would have sealed this game. Yao was guarding Murphy wasn't he? Goddamn, if Foyle was a decent offensive player defenders would actually play him honestly. I think Murphy coming out with the handoff to Jrich had forced Yao outside and then he got onto Richardson.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jason voorhees:</div><div class="quote_post">Don't say it. Free throws did the Warriors in .</div> Its always one thing or another. We need Baron back.
It's all good when it comes to opinions, but nobody can complain if the same results happen if we fire a coach and replace him with somebody else, especially somebody that disagrees with the front office. We've seen this team and we've seen these type of moves before. Rationalize things before we start calling for people's heads. Actually, I'd like to see us win a few more games and really throw everybody into a false sense of security again. Forget the fact we can't hit free throws, forget we have no inside game, forget a lot of things we don't do well as a team. Let's win a few more games and make the playoffs, and fool ourselves into thinking we deserve to be there every single season after this one. I'm sorry but did anyone question what the Warriors could have done when Houston knew where the play was going to? It was to Richardson/Fisher/Murphy. Also why the hell was Yao Ming out that far to begin with? That was the one play where Monty got outcoached because he left some guys in and that attracted the better defenders out to the perimeter and also guarded any pathways to the basket. I don't understand why Foyle/Dunleavy were leftin. They were virtually non-factors in the game and they ain't drawing anybody on them. That part I can agree with on how Monty failed. But this whole fire Monty thing is nonsense. It's a pure mob mentality where a bunch of guys are unhappy with what they see and they choose to single out something to direct their anger at. Why doesn't Mullin get any blame, the guys who've turned over the ball or missed free throws? We lost by points we should have made earlier. Also, GM Mullin chose to roll with an offense that has no good centers or consistent scorers other than perimeter guys. That's a low % game right there. Absolute questionable to call for a guy's head when everybody should wake up to reality with what this team is and how limited it is. It's a very limited team and we shouldn't be homers thinking that it isn't.
Anyway, I don't feel any attachment to Montgomery but I'm defending his idea of playing a solid 5 on 5 game with inside/outside play on offense and tough defense. We don't even have 5 to play 5 most of the time. So with that said, we should probably fire Monty, hire some other coach that we can set up to fail like all the rest. Musselman included. That is why I'm so passionate about these topics, because I think anger is really causing some short sight about our team's chances and the way it plays against other teams since the first year of rebuilding from Jrich/Murphy. While I dont' think we should detach emotion from commentary, I think it should be well explained and balanced and fair.
his transgressions as a coach are way too numerous for me to mention. You may call it nonsense to fire him but I call it inevitable. And the sooner the better. We need more leadership from the coaching position.
That's probably true. Leadership including NBA experience. But anyway we should make a pros/cons list of Monty so everybody can see it. That way we can sort of cover all perspectives. Sometimes perspectives are different and we have to communicate what we see that others may not.
Pros: draws good out of bounds plays Cons: Displays no leadership, can not motivate players to play up to their potential, will not let the team run. Will not go to proven post player in Diogu. Horrible rotations. The list will go on and on. The ONLY reason I would not want Monty to get fired is because of continuity sake. How many coaches have we had? Too many. Muss is old news. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Monty has underperformed and it is time for him to go so we can at least try to make a playoff push. Look what George Karl did for the Nuggets last year....
We can all argue whether or not he should be fired or not, but the fact is the he'll most likely be fired anyway. So the argument should be how soon the Warriors should replace him. And I say if he's going to be gone later, might as well do it now. With the trade deadline past, maybe the only way to jumpstart this team is with a new coach.
