That's just how the shooting guard wants it. As trade rumors involving him picked up steam in recent weeks, Gordon kept reiterating he wants to remain a Bull.

Speculation died Thursday afternoon when the NBA trade deadline passed.

"I never talked to anybody about our core," general manager John Paxson said. "I was not going to do that. I talked about some of our [draft] picks to see if we could significantly improve, but [key players] weren't out there this time around."

The Bulls were on the periphery of a few trades that didn't pan out, Paxson added.

Gordon said he didn't believe a trade was coming because neither Paxson nor his agent ever warned him of one.

"I enjoy playing with the guys here," Gordon said. "I'm learning a lot from coach [Scott] Skiles. We have a good GM. I just like Chicago. I don't really like thinking about going somewhere else and starting over."</div><div align="center">

Trading Gordon probably isn't the best thing for Chicago to think about doing at this point. Imagine this, though. It's frightening:

    PG: Kirk Hinrich
    SG: Ben Gordon
    SF: Luol Deng
    PF: Tyson Chandler
    C: Jermaine O'Neal

In a few years, that's an incredible team. O'Neal, by that time, would be the veteran leader of the bunch, while the others would all be approaching their prime.

And it's a good thing that Gordon realizes that Chicago has the potential to be something special. He's one smart guy.

EDIT: In no way am I saying that O'Neal is already a Bull. I'm simply acknowledging a second-rate rumor that I can, believe it or not, see come true.

its good to hear gordon says he loves the bulls, and hes got a good relationship with the coach and players, he can be a 25 ppg with no problem except hes gonna shoot around 42%

If we did some how acquire O?Neal according to the rumor we would trade Hinrich and a 1st rounder (Knicks pick) along with fillers. So the lineup would be Duhon, Gordon, Deng, Chandler, and O?Neal. It?s something nice to think about, but the odds of it happening are slim in my opinion.

Gordon and Hinrich need to be the backbone of this franchise...that backcourt will end up being as good as any...

with that said, the Bulls still have tradeable assets with Chandler, Harrington, Duhon, and maybe even Songaila to pursue an offensive wingman...

I agree with a lot of those players being tradable, but I see Chandler as untouchable unless he leaves in a package deal. He is a great defender who grabs a lot of rebounds on the offensive and defensive boards. His offensive game still has not come around, but the team has made it clear he is part of our long-term future, and is not going to be traded any time soon.

Songaila is probably our most valuable trade piece he is a good player, but not really an integral part of our team. His minutes have been inconsistent so I would not be surprised if the team moved him during the off season to make more room to sign free agent. Duhon is another good trade piece, he like Songaila, is a good player, but still tradable.

In my mind, the Bulls are coming into a summer with more value then they have had in some time, Cap space to burn (they HAVE to hold on to Thomas to keep all that free space) players with value, draft picks with value, and no real big FA's to worry about. if I'm running this franchise, I'm keeping my picks. There are so many rumors about trade the picks for this, trade them for that. I don't see it that way. Right now, as it stands, the Bulls are looking at 2 Top 10 picks! Plus the cap. The only reason I can see trading players AND draft picks, is for a MAJOR superstar. I don't see O'Neal being that kinda player. If we were to draft wise, a couple building blocks and re-sign midlevel guys, like Hinrich, pick up the option on Deng, we've got Chandler, however, and flame away, but Gordon needs to be used to bring in a better, bigger guard. We can draft BIG this summer, and go out for a shooting guard with our cap money. I will be getting further into this throughout the next week, aswell as some polls regarding the draft itself. Break down some scenarios, offer up some options and see what the fans think would be the best direction. This summer is big guys, lets hope Paxson does the right thing. We are on the cusp of breaking through, the wrong couplde moves, and we could be right back in the toilet.
