<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[imgl]http://graphics.jsonline.com/graphics/sports/buck/img/feb06/bogut223.jpg[/imgl] Andrew Bogut came to the Bradley Center on Thursday with his game face on, but the rookie for the Milwaukee Bucks never made it to the arena floor.

The towering 21-year-old from Australia came to play basketball, but he didn't need to suit up. He just sat in front on an Xbox video game system and played against his fans online.

Bogut brought his A-game to the online world of Xbox Live, taking on other players in NBA Live 06, a basketball simulation game.

"I have the Xbox 360 at home . . . but I don't have a lot of time to play," Bogut said. "I'm not big into video games. The kids will probably kill me."

The event was part of Xbox Live's Game With Fame series, which lets the millions of subscribers to the online service try to take on their favorite athletes and celebrities in popular video games. Bogut is the first Milwaukee personality to participate. Ahman Green of the Green Bay Packers played in it last year.

Bogut showed up at the Bucks' offices early to get a little Xbox practice time, which was probably a good idea. More than 100 players sent electronic requests to play before the games were to start.

His first opponent selected the Milwaukee Bucks as his team - assuming it was a dude - so Bogut took the Sacramento Kings, losing, 82-69.

In his second game - with Bogut playing as the San Antonio Spurs against the Detroit Pistons - relentless defense, a whirlwind of passing and a flurry of 3-point shots helped him win, 105-97.

"I can't believe I'm going to beat a kid who plays this every day," Bogut said, grinning, with less than a minute on the game clock. "I shouldn't beat anybody."</div>

Very cool. Bogut seems like a fun guy.

I would love to face an NBA player - any player - head-to-head in a game of NBA Live. It wouldn't even matter if I won or not...
