<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Denver Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony made sure the Minnesota Timberwolves continued their overtime struggles.

Anthony scored 30 points, including the game winning 3-pointer with three seconds remaining, as the Nuggets squeezed out a 102-101 victory over the Timberwolves, who has dropped to 0-4 in overtime games.

A 6-8 swingman, Anthony is having his best season as a pro, averaging a career-best 26 points per game. On Friday, the third-year forward continued his stellar season by connecting on 11-of-24 shots, including 4-of-7 from behind the arc, and pulling down eight rebounds.</div>
Carmelo is definitely one of the best clutch players in the game today:

Also how was a foul not called on the steal the T-Wolves got? It doesn't get more obvious then that.

Yeah, that was a horrible no call, but it all worked out in the end. Has their been a more clutch player this season than Carmelo? The kid thrives in the late minutes.

In game-winning situations, the player behind Kobe is Carmelo this season. He's really suprised me, I always thought of him as hype, but he's really flourishing this season.

How many game-winning/tying shots has Kobe hit this year?

I know Melo, Wade and VC all have more than a few. So does Ben Gordon now that I think about it. I don't recall Kobe hitting that many this season.

I saw that play on ESPN and I was really impressed, under that type of pressure with the defender all over you, that was a great shot, props to Melo.

Carmelo definitely is up there but I think Wade has been most clutch this season. But overall there both great players that have proven they can takeover in late game situations.

If there's one stage of the game where Melo has an up on lebron, it's as a clutch performer...

this year most clutch I'd have to say is:

    1. Carmelo
    2. Kobe
    3. Wade

Damn, I wannna put Kobe first, he's been amazingly clutch this year, but Melo has made some real nice GAME-WINNERS. My memory is bad, but I remember Kobe hitting the game winner against Cleveland, anyone remember any other ones?

Kobe hasn't hit that many game winners this season. Carmelo has hit more shots than anyone I can think of right now (this season).

Kobe hit one early in the season, one against the Mavericks, two over LeBron against the Cavs and a few others. All clutch play, there are others which I can't remember at this point. He hit one at the ASG, before the T-Mac miss. That makes around 4 or 5 that I can remember, there are a couple more.

I think Kobe is more clutch than Kobe in general. But being clutch is something you either have or do not have. Luckily, Melo has it which means he will probably still have it for the rest of his career. Wade is also impressive in the clutch. The fact that Melo does take over games down the stretch of games is the case that can be made for Melo to be mentioned alongside Lebron and Wade.

Kobe also hit the game winner in OT against Denver this year...

Wade is mediocre in clutch situations. He's either hit or miss, where with Melo, its most likely hit and with LeBron its most likely miss.

Wade mediocre in clutch situations?? Wade is a top 5 clutch player in the league. That is a fact. IMO Other than Carmelo and Kobe I don't think there is another guy I would rather give the ball to than Dwyane "Flash" Wade. Wade being mediocre are you saying that there is a whole tier of players better than Wade in the final seconds of a game?

    Obvious Laker fan.

Can somebody list stats that measure the top 10 or 20 clutch players in the game today? I don't know where to get those numbers.

What is so obvious? I stated that I thought Melo was a joke but he's suprised me this season and now I know, he is no joke.

Judging from their team records, the 3 guys who have a chance to prove their clutch are Kobe, Melo, and Iverson. The reason I said that is their teams hover around .500 and they have chances of their games being a lot closer where game-winning shots present themselves more often than others.

Read again. It's obvious you're a laker fan, even before looking at your sig/info. Melo's been a top tier clutch player this season and you're still ranking him behind Kobe.

Its obvious you have no clue about what I'm saying. I can't believe I have to deal with you again. By saying it's obvious I'm a "Laker fan" are you saying its a bad thing, or even stupider, are you trying to say I'm hiding the fact that I support the Lakers?

Now we have that cleared, can you please emphasize on your statement. It's very bland and I don't really know what you think is wrong with what I said. Care to elucidate what you stated?

My fault friend, I just got the update. Basically, what I'm trying to say is...now pay attention...it's amazing how Kobe fans just bodly put Kobe ahead of of other players in certain categories. You fail to give Melo enough credit. Now, I like Kobe's game, (don't like his persona off the court though.) but I can admit when another player has a better skill than Kobe.

Maybe Melo needs his own sticky for game winners.

-Add two more since when I first posted this thread.
