What Lakers need to do to make playoffs: - Fire mitch ( today ) - Sign Penny Hardaway ( He didnt choke Pjax ) - Dont Start Kwame - Put Cook in the game when trailing the game - Slap Odom in his head like he slaps fellow teamates asses - Fire Kupchak - Play like every game is ur last - Kwame " We dont need to score, we got Kobe" WTF - Fire Kucake * If theres anything i forgot to add... Thats why u guys r here for
Firing Mitch Kupchak will have to wait until the summer time. If the Lakers do not make the playoffs this year, his head is going to roll. Penny Hardaway would not be my first choice, but adding him would be an upgrade at the guard position. Kwame Brown needs to start against teams with back to the basket scorers. He was doing a solid job on Elton Brand, but once PJax took him off Brand and tried Mihm & Cook instead, Brand went off last night. Odom has to show up to work every game. He looked fantastic in the first two games, but last night the Odom we all hate showed up again. The next 4 games could make or break the Lakers season. Boston at home Orlando at home @ Portland @ Golden State The Lakers have to win all 4 of these games to keep the pressure on Utah, Sacramento, Golden State, and Houston in the playoff race. After these 4 games the Lakers will face a tough schedule ... Detroit at home San Antonio at home at New Orleans at San Antonio There's a high chance the Lakers lose all 4 of those games, so to hedge our losses we have to win the next 4 games.
Is it me or Lakers played similar to last half of the season. I saw a completely different team when milm and kwame were in the game. The pace looked slow and sluggish. They need to put in george or cook in the starting lineup for some more energy.
Mihm is the second most consistent player this season. He's been playing great this season. Kwame is the problem, Cook should start in his place. Cook can shoot and his defence is better. It's a no brainer to give Cook more minutes.
I thought Bynum would've been great against the Clips...both in the post for offensive and defensive rebounding and on defense as help against Brand and any pesky smal person driving in...
yeah, what ever happened to bynum? i think at the all star break phil said he would be playing more, and so far i think he has only played once, which was for only a minute.
Give Bynum more minutes. If the Lakers aren't going to push for another championship for Bryants PRIME YEARS then we might as well start building around Bynum. If not..........Then land a priemier center or forward (i.e. Kevin Garnett) for next season because we aren't going to be making much noice in the playoffs this year. In fact, looking at the standing as of now, there is a great chance that the Lakers will either be meeting San Antonio or Dallas in the playoff, depending on how they fair for the rest of the season. If they are going to be swept the first round I'd rather they not make playoffs and get a better pick.

Then Boston traded the pick to Atlanta for Antoine Walker. Then Atlanta traded the pick to Phoenix in the Joe Johnson deal. I think the pick is top 7 or top 10 protected though. The only first round pick we have is Maimi's.
I don't know why you guys are calling for Bynum. All he does is shoot the ball. He is lost on defense and just throws his hands up to try and block shots, sometimes it works. Kwame Brown is much better on defense, and Bynum would kill us even more. Give him the offseason to prepare himself and work a lot of KAJ, then call for him in the game. He's not ready yet. Phil isn't a stupid coach, he knows what he is talking about.

He gets worn down pretty quick because his body isn't strong enough to bang on the inside. Don't worry though, Joe Carbone (Kobe's trainer) will get his hands on Bynum all summer long and get him in physical shape for next season. Bynum gets to look forward to the 6-6-6- routine this offseason. He's going to also get a chance to workout with Kevin Garnett and Amare Stoudemire, who also train with Kobe in the summer. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A dedicated athlete stays in shape, even in the off-season. A superior one gets bigger and faster. Then there's Kobe Bryant, who incorporates world-class training methods into a six-hour, six-phase, six-days-a-week routine. That 6-6-6 may symbolize a hellish problem for the rest of the league. Joe Carbone, Bryant's personal trainer, arrives for a two-hour workout in Kobe's personal gym as early as 7 a.m. Then it's down to the Lakers' training facility for box jumps -- jumping onto boxes of various heights -- medicine-ball throws, 30-yard sprints, acceleration drills and, of course, shooting drills. The weight training sessions alternate from high-rep to maximum-lift; in the latter Kobe now squats 400 and bench-presses 300. His shoulders and arms thickened so much over the summer that his head looks smaller. </div> I think it is important to give Bynum a steady 10 minutes a game the rest of the way. The best way to improve is playing against real competition. He needs to start learning the tendancies of his counterparts and taking the moves he learned in practice and applying them on the court. If he's working hard and Kareem is requesting him to be rewarded with more PT, then PJax needs to get him in regular rotation.
well, if anyone is watching the game now, i think we should all agree that we should give bynum some minutes now.
Bynum didn't deserve any burn last night. He doesn't deserve burn in a close game...last night was a close game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting K8B:</div><div class="quote_post">Bynum didn't deserve any burn last night. I think even Kareem said that Kwame doesn't want to be taught by him because he doesn't feel like he's a rookie like Bynum. Bynum has shown more promise than Kwame. The only problem with Bynum is that he gets tired easily. Once his fitness is better, he should be able to play whole games. The only way he can do that is by slowly playing more and more minutes. Bynum has shown more capability to learn than Brown, he already looks like he can lay the ball up, which is already more than Kwame and he looks like he's a natural rebounder.

Kwame Brown doesn't work with Kareem, because Kwame doesn't want to be a back to the basket scorer. He still wants to be a face up player on offense.
