Man we are getting close to the lakers.. they lost 83 to 102 to the clippers and we won.. Here are the records for the 2 teams.. Lakers: 28-27.. .509 Houston:24-31.. .436 Do yall think we can comeback and take over the lakers and their leadership of kobe bryant? We r exactly 4 games behind.. If we are going to make the playoffs (8th spot) or (7th spot).. we will have to play either mavs or spurs.. i'd rather play mavs since we gotta chance like last year..
I think the Rockets should look at my Sig and use it as motivation. It can be done Houston! This is Clutch City!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">Title edited. All talk regarding the playoff race now should go in this thread.</div> thanks locke
i agree.... rockets' remaining games are against quality teams.... but the nice thing is that with yao and t-mac we're capable of beating any of these teams on any given day.... yeah, even the Phoenix.....
i have serious doubts about the Rockets making the playoffs... I think it's gonna be a repeat of Yao's rookie year, where they narrowly get beat out for that last spot. And really, what would be the point of making the playoffs? They will probably play either Dallas or San Antonio (maybe Phoenix?), who are so much better than the Rockets. I don't think there's any point in making it in if they have basically no chance of beating those 2 teams in a 7 game series. At least if they don't make the playoffs, Yao and TMac will get a couple more weeks to rest up and then start their training for next season. The Rockets would also get a chance at the #1 pick. That may sound pessimistic, but it's the truth. Even if Yao and TMac have huge games, the supporting cast around them are no match for the supporting casts on those top 2 teams in the West.
exactly correct.. even if v make the playoffs there's no point we'll get knocked by the mavs or spurs
For those saying even making the playoffs won't be worth it because it is likely that the Rockets will get bounced the first round: Doug Collins and Reggie Miller said during a telecast this past week that every playoff appearance counts, and none should be taken for granted. I'll take their opinion over anybody on this or any other board. Whats the point. Experience, effort, big stage presence. We got a whole new team this yr. and having them in the playoffs, even if it is for 4 straight loses is valuable. If you disagree you don't understand the difference in playoff and regular season play. It aint just wins and loses. No to tanking the season 4 games back 24 games left
OMG i am so disgusted by some of you so called "rockets" fans. Where's your team spirit? Do you think all the best teams in the NBA win by giving up? Seriously some of you have such a pessemisitc loser mentality. I mean hear yourselves speak "oh no the big bad mavs and spurs are soooo much better than us" "oh! what's the point it's the end of the world", If that's your mentality then you're not a Rocket fan because Rockets don't quit. If we look at the rest of the season in two phases, you can see that we're actually close to the playoffs: There are 13 games left in march: Mar 5 vs Portland Mar 7 at Minnesota Mar 8 vs Indiana Mar 12 at San Antonio Mar 13 vs New Jersey Mar 15 vs Dallas Mar 18 vs San Antonio Mar 20 vs LA Clippers Mar 21 at Dallas Mar 23 at New Orl/OKC Mar 26 vs Cleveland Mar 29 vs Seattle Mar 31 vs Washington Looking at that, we need a 10-3 record to be .500 by the end of March. It may look like a challenge but this team can and will pull it off. So cheer up it's not over until the fat sings and i for one am staying true and faithful to this team and believe we can make the playoffs and even further and i will have sweet dreams once Mark Cuban is crying in bed.
Mar 5 vs Portland Win Mar 7 at Minnesota Win Mar 8 vs Indiana Win Mar 12 at San Antonio Loss Mar 13 vs New Jersey Loss Mar 15 vs Dallas Loss Mar 18 vs San Antonio Loss Mar 20 vs LA Clippers Win Mar 21 at Dallas Loss Mar 23 at New Orl/OKC Win Mar 26 vs Cleveland Win Mar 29 vs Seattle Win Mar 31 vs Washington Win I say we go 8-5 for the rest.

The Rockets are a great team, but saying they will make the playoffs is just bein ignant They haven't proven themselves once this season against a good team. They have just choked a lot. I hate to say it, but I would rather have a better rookie next season.
22 Games Left - Let's take a look to Rockets schedule We are all talking about Rockets making PlayOff or not. Actually we are 27-33 with 22 games left and the following is the Rockets schedule till the end with my own W/L preview. W - Tue 7 @ Minnesota W - Wed 8 Indiana L - Sun 12 @ San Antonio W - Mon 13 New Jersey L - Wed 15 Dallas L - Sat 18 San Antonio W - Mon 20 L.A. Clippers L - Tue 21 @ Dallas W - Thu 23 @ NO/Okla. City W - Sun 26 Cleveland W - Wed 29 Seattle W - Fri 31 Washington L - Sun 2 @ L.A. Lakers W - Tue 4 @ Seattle W - Wed 5 @ Portland W - Fri 7 @ Golden State W - Sun 9 @ Sacramento W - Mon 10 @ Utah W - Wed 12 Minnesota L - Sat 15 Memphis W - Mon 17 @ Denver L - Wed 19 San Antonio I have tried to be very optimistic (according to the schedule) giving to Rockets a 15-7 record which lead to a final 42-40. First, you can put your W/L previews and then the question: can we make a 17-7 record in the last 22 games? And if yes, will it be enough to catch a PlayOff spot?

McGrady isn't 100%, and we're not getting consistent play from our role players. And there are just too many teams ahead of us in the race for the 8th seed. I don't think the playoffs will happen for us this season.
tough schedule for us this month. hopefully we can pull through. Rockets-Believe Here we come Playoffs.
Rockets should lose on purpose. Apparently an impossible schedule with the way sac, lakers, denver are playing it's almost impossible to make 8th spot who r we kidding. 9th spot or lower? i'd rather get lower to get a chance for Morrison. "Old school right down to the stripes on the socks ... Like a coach on the floor ... Incredibly competitive ... The game comes very easily to him ... A great player in the half court ... Can create offense for himself or others ... Really excels with the ball in his hands at the top of the key ... Very good scorer with complete offensive repertoire ... Effortless shooting stroke .."
