It's so early in the game to tell which rookies to keep because we're still trying to develop an identity and also rebuild. And even if one or two guys may be good players, they may not fit that identity. All I know is with our young guys they could be like Yahoo.com or Google.com stock. People say "Oh that stock will be worthless, who sees value in a company that does web searches" Bam! The naysayers turned out to be wrong years later. So that's why I think any rookie ain't worth trading now until they get a chance to show what they can do. I don't care how many people justify that Ike will never be this or never be that, it's all assumptions and conjecture. The fact is both pro-whatever and con-whatever don't know until it happens. So I feel a little bad for hating on Dunleavy so early in his career especially when he was rushed into service so quickly without a real balanced team or guy to back him up. He was kind of set up to fail in a way, but it's hard to be on his side when he got paid a crap load of money to just suck worse this season. At least his out of character moments are entertaining. The point is I just didn't believe in a guy like Mike Dunleavy Jr. with the current team we had at the time. But I think guys like Ike/Taft/Biedrins they fit our needs right now because we don't have many big players that can work inside [IMG] And since we lack quickness, you really admire the physical talents of Biedrins, Pietrus, and Ellis.

BTW this Taft guy, what's he doing? Is he that hurt?

I agree with CR2. Sometimes I have too much short term what-are-you-doing-for-me-now memory. I've been jumping to too many conclusions lately, one of the problems is that I haven't been able to watch many games, except box scores.

For example Ike has been struggling recently and then he had a good game against Utah, now I'm high about Ike's abilities now. Although he seems like a bit of a ball hog and can't defend well at the moment, which is very similar to *cough* another powerforward on the team.

And I've been up and down about Dunleavy, Pietrus, and Baron all season.

But I do think that rookies who are going to be successful are fairly productive in their rookie year. Even though they're raw, they should be able to hang with the pros, despite being rooks. Most players don't really improve much skillwise from what I've seen. They may get more savvy and experienced about the pro game, but usually not much in the skills department.

I remember when Biedrins started getting minutes last year, he showed that he could play and showed his abilities. And so has Monta this year. Not sure about Taft, haven't seen much from him and Ike has shown signs, but other times he looks terrible, but I'd like to see him get more consistent in looking at least decent.

From what I've seen of Taft I really like. He has a NBA ready body, athleticism, sweet hook shot, and most importantly good defense. He plays D different from Biedrins, because he has size. He's also more patient and just bodies people. It's very unfortunate that he has back problems right now.

Taft is a hustler; kind of like a Reggie Evans type. That's about it unfortunately. Biedris has a wider wing span, is taller, and has better hands.
