I’m going to play devils advocate hear, and say we should in no circumstance take two big men in the lottery, especially if they are both top ten selections. Tyson Chandler is 24 meaning that he will be around just as long as any person we draft will be, plus he signed a long term deal last summer, unless we plan on trading Chandler their is no reason to draft a player in the lottery and make him a life time back up. A big guard and center is the ideal selections for me. Though Ben Gordon has more than held his own as the starter, when he has been in that position, the organization has all, but come straight out and said that they want to have a bigger player at the shooting guard spot. Ben Gordon seems like the odd man out on this team, and I would not be surprised if he was traded for that reason. Any how, yeah, a guard and center is my draft day hopes.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I still cant believe you guys got a possible #1 pick for a Eddy Curry</div> 2 number ones if you count the '07 draft aswell. We have the Knicks pick then too, and at the rate they are going, they are looking at back to back worst records. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I wouldn't be surprised if getting an all star means letting go of tyson in return</div> I've had a feeling on this too. Honestly, I feel the Bulls signed Chandler OVER Curry, but held on to Tyson because his trade value is higher, and he was cheaper to sign. I just don't see him in the Bulls long term plans. I see him as a high priced holdover until they can pull the trigger on something big. If you packaged Chandler and Gordon together, they could really go after someone this summer. Honestly, would trading Chandler, Gordon, and our first lottery pick for Garnett work? With our second pick we could nab Roy, Brewer, Foye and we still have that big pick in '07? Not sure about the numbers, but, it's something to sit on and ponder.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">imagine if we got Greg Oden as well in the 07 draft.</div> That's what I was just thinking while I was watching the game right now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">imagine if we got Greg Oden as well in the 07 draft.</div> Next year doesn't have just Oden. There are some other goog bigs that are blocked this year with the new age rule. There's also Brendan Wright for example, who's going to UNC next year. He would have come out this year too, and from what i read, he's also a monster. If we get a top three pick next year, there's a really big chance we're going to end up with a all star caliber player.
Draft Aldridge this year, along with Branden Roy. Next season draft Kevin Durant. Resign Deng. Trade a resigned ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich, and a #1 pick for a sign and trade with Miami for a new contract for Dwyane Wade. Now, our roster is as follows...... PG-Wade SG-Roy SF-Durant PF-Chandler C-Aldridge 6th-Deng 7th-Duhon 8th-Nocioni 9th-Songaila I just woke up and I'm tired, so I can not promise my mind is right yet, but I figure Shaq will be retiring by then, Wade will not like wat's left in Miami, so he'll return home to bring his onced beloved Bulls back to the promise land. Let me know if this tickles any feathers.
How effective would Wade be at PG though? I think it'd be better to bring Roy off the bench and start Duhon at the 1. It lets you maximize Wade's offensive prowess.
It could, however, Wade is a playmaker. Miami took off last season when the moved him to the 2, but he played point his first year and a half in the NBA. He could still score when he wants, and it would give him more favorable matchups. This is a guy, who at the 2, still drops almost 7 assists, and with his ability to break down a defense, he could swing it and dump off down low. With him being a below average outside shooter, he could draw and dish to better perimeter shooters, or just take it strong. His body would also take less of a punishment, because he wouldnt have to bang with so many large 2 guards who have him by 3-6 inches and 10-20 lbs.
You guys have no idea what will happen next year and already you already say you're getting a future #1 pick or a lottery pick. The Knicks' pick is swapable, so that doesn't necessarily mean the Bulls will even get our pick. If the Knicks gel and do well next season (a likely scenario) and make the playoffs, how are you going to get Greg Oden and Kevin Durrant like some of you have requested. Or what if the Bulls don't make the playoffs for whatever reason. How can you honestly say you know what's going to happen a year from now. You don't know what record either team will get and you also don't even know who will declare or not. What of the Knicks finish with the 3rd worst record in the league and another team takes Aldridge. Or what if the Knicks just lose ground in lottery? You don't know what will happen. I also heard Aldridge might not declare, but whether or not that's true, I would definitely be alarmed about his performance against LSU last Saturday.
It is called speculation. We are discussing possibilities. How is it a likely scenario that the Knicks gel and make the playoffs? You are about $300 million over the cap and your a team full of prima donna's and head cases. You guys are stuffed for a long time. New York Knicks, the new L.A. Clippers.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">It is called speculation. They're more "ifs" in speculating than "definites". <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">How is it a likely scenario that the Knicks gel and make the playoffs?</div> Why not? There's a whole offseason to get better and a full training camp for the players to get some chemistry. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">You are about $300 million over the cap and your a team full of prima donna's and head cases.</div> So, we can only get better by signing someone? Great logic. We are under the cap just like most teams in this league. We're way over the cap, but that doesn't really have a great effect for free agency. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> You guys are stuffed for a long time. New York Knicks, the new L.A. Clippers.</div> Hardly the same situation, but if memory serves me correct they said the same thing about the 04-05 Chicago Bulls, especially when they went 0-9. It just goes to show you how you can't count a team out let alone count them out a year from now.
OK, slow down, relax, take a deep breath before you hyper ventilate. Let's be real now. First off, the majority of Bulls fans would LIKE or PREFER to draft Aldridge, SHOULD he declare. Secondly, the LSU game, is one game, doesn't alarm me what so ever. Not like he was WAY off. 75% of the shots he took, were on point, they just rolled off, or were halfway down. Those are shots he usually hits and had he, you're looking at a 20pt game instead of a 4 point game. No worries. Next topic, the '07 pick. The draft picks are swapable, however, nothing in the NY organization, the cap, their trades, and the fact several players have poison contracts which make them almost (I said almost) untradable. Marbury's deal is pretty much going nowhere. Francis is a base year player, as is Richardson. They have 2 draft picks this year that they could trade for someone, however, who? The Knicks, weather fans like it or not, are in no position to move out of the position they are in, until at th very least, Summer of '08. When Starbury's contract is up, a few other players can be optioned out, and they can rebuild, not attempt to re-tool. Which under Isiah, has gone nowhere fast. So, the chances of the Knicks getting a Top 5 pick in the '07 draft, well let's just say I'd bet both my houses on it. This is not about gelling as a team. The Knicks have 4 SG's and about 5 PF's on their roster. You can't win with that. Marbury, Francis, Richardson, Robinson, are all scorers, and not one can affectivly run a team, bottom line. Then you have James, Rose, Lee, Frye, all either overpaid (we know which ones) or too young to take over a franchise. Hell, if LB gets this team turned around next season, and makes a run at the playoffs (who is gonna fall out, and teams like Orlando, Charlotte, Toronto are only getting better) it's his greatest coaching job, if not THE SINGLE greatest coaching job in the history of the NBA. Take nothing from the Knicks, you know, my heart is in NY, however, Dolan has turned a blind eye and Thomas has gone out of control. I would hate to see my beloved franchise go through the toilet, however, the truth and facts have to be acknowledged. And I think every fan on this board will be the first to tell you, nobody watches a team go from greatness to a half decade of hell, better than Bulls fans.

Instead of being in the paint taking care of business and using his length and quickness against Big Baby kept him out on the perimeter and made him take jumpers from 15 feet out. He got to the free throw line not even once. With that said, he reminds me a lot of Channing Frye, but Frye isn’t worth a possible number one draft pick. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Next topic, the '07 pick. That is more than enough ammo to land a player or two who can impact this team. What if the Knicks were to get someone like Garnett this summer? Point is, the Knicks despite being over the cap, have many tradable assets making them more flexible than you said. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This is not about gelling as a team. The main issue concerning the Knicks is their lack of chemistry. Do you think the Knicks went on a 6-game losing streak by accident? Beating Phoenix, Dallas, and Cleveland by accident? During this streak they showed great signs of chemistry, but after Marbury went down with the injury for 10 games, the Knicks went haywire from there. You’re acting as if Larry Brown’s coaching hasn’t affected the Knicks’ progress. 40 something starting lineups and trashing his team to the media also affected the players’ performance, so Larry would be fixing a mess that he helped make.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">It is rare to find a Knicks fan so optimistic. Kinda like some Raiders fans.</div> I'm not being optmistic. I'm saying before we shouldn't talk about getting Greg Oden with the Knicks' pick more then 365 days from now.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Texas sophomore center LaMarcus Aldridge has spoken with coach Rick Barnes about entering the NBA Draft, and as a result of their conversation, Aldridge is making inquiries about agents. Aldridge has not formally entered his name into the NBA Draft pool, and even if he does, he could return to school if he maintains his eligibility. However, signing with an agent would be an irreversible move into professional basketball. Aldridge, whom Texas lists at 6-foot-10 but who is closer to 7-0, averaged 15 points and 9.2 rebounds for the 30-7 Longhorns. He would become a candidate for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, depending on which teams wins the lottery and which other early entrant candidates -- Florida's Joakim Noah? -- go into the draft. Even without Aldridge, Texas would enter next season as a likely preseason top five team assuming junior P.J. Tucker and sophomore Daniel Gibson -- neither of whom is a certain first-round pick -- return. Aldridge's position would be filled ably by 6-10 freshman Kevin Durant, the most impressive player at last week's McDonald's All-American game. </div> <div align="center"> Source</div> YES!!!!!!

I think guys like Aldridge, Thomas, Noah (Noah said he was returning to Florida by the way) can all be good players, but I don't see much more than that. That's why I believe Bargnani is PRESENTLY the best player in this draft, and also has the most UPSIDE out of anyone in the draft as well.
