I was reading Micheal Grange's online article in the globe and mail and he mentioned the raptors might have to compensate the suns when they hire Colangelo. I know this happens a lot in the NFL eg. when Gruden signed w/ Tampa or more recently the Chiefs signing Dungy. Are we expecting the Raptors to compensate the Suns and if so w/ what? A Draft Pick, Cash? Or is this a non-issue? Grange's Article - - http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...ory/Sports/home
I really hope not. Sarver (Suns Owner) has given Colangelo the green light to hear from any team he wants. The Raps didn't break any rules. And the Suns wouldn't retain him knowing he'll be working for another team comes June.
I hope this isn't true either. In the NFL, there's like 7 rounds, so its a little easier to give a draft pick. But with only 2 rounds in the NBA, every pick we have is precious. And like Fever already mentioned, the whole transaction seemed pretty straightforward.
