<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But it's believed possibilities for the Jazz include 32-year-old Voshon Lenard, should he soon reach a buyout agreement with Portland and be waived by the Trail Blazers, and 32-year-old Tony Delk, who was waived late last week by Atlanta but reportedly is on Detroit's radar. Lenard, who is in his 11th NBA season, was traded from Denver to Portland as part of last Thursday's four-team, multi-player deal that also sent Nuggets guard Earl Watson back to Seattle. The career 41.5-percent shooter blew out his left Achilles tendon on the opening night of the 2004-05 season, then returned to play in its final two games. He reportedly fell out of favor, however, with Nuggets coach George Karl, who felt Lenard's game did not mesh with his club's upbeat offensive style. The University of Minnesota product played in just 12 games for Denver this season.</div> Source I'd welcome either of these players to the Lakers bench. Both are lights out shooters, something the Lakers really lack right now at the guard position. The best perimeter shooter has been Brian Cook lately.
I don't think we should get our hopes up, infact, I think we should all expect nothing to be done about it if Lenard is waived.
I'd love Voshon here, he'd be great as a sub for Kobe. He can knock it down from the perimeter, something we badly need.
Unbelievable! I dont think Mitch would look at free agency if Tim Duncan was in it. I mean come on, dont u think these guys can help the lakers instantly: Penny Hardaway [ Kuptchak asked phil ] Tim Thomas [ Signed by Suns ] Latrell Sprewell Wesley Person Tony Delk [ Signed by Pistons ] Christian Laetner Doug Christie Kerry Kittle Fred Hioberg Dennis Rodman{ Ill forgive Mitch on this one }
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dtpxcore:</div><div class="quote_post">Isn't Doug Christie retired yet?</div> Yeah he is. I think that all of the players that were listed could help the Lakers (except maybe Spree because of his attitude), but that's only because the Lakers need all the depth they can get. It doesn't have much to do with the abilities of those players listed.
They didn't even mention the Lakers as a possibility ther so I'm not sure why everyone's getting so excited. Anyways, I'd love to get Leonard lol. Waive Kwame (I'm half serios lol) and get this guy.
Since Mitch failed to make use of Slava's expiring contract, we should just waive him. He's out of for the rest of the year, we might as well get another body on the bench.
Voshon Lenard can't do anything besides shoot and has really lost his touch since being injured last season. He would do nothing more than Aaron McKie is doing right now. Maybe a 3 every now and then, but I see no point in wasting a part of the MLE on Vo.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jim Jackson was released by the Suns.</div> He's not very productive but I would love to see someone with experience on this team.
I would love for the Lakers to bring in Jimmy. Give us a great outside shooter and a great backup to Kobe. Please Mitch, for the love of god do something!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting ilive4ball:</div><div class="quote_post">He's not very productive but I would love to see someone with experience on this team.</div>The reason he hasn't been productive is because he doesn't get minutes in Phoenix. He can still hit jump shots and give us someone that can extend the defense, which is exactly what we need. He'd also be a great backup for Kobe. We need all of that, so why not get Jimmy?
I really like Voshon Lenard but I dont think he'll be waived, I still think that we should go after him this year in Free Agency he wont be hard to get we should just offer him a decent deal for like 2 years and he should probably sign. I like him cause he'd be a great instant-offense guy off the bench for the lakers and his 3 point shooting is great.
