kind of a fun game...

my first moves would be...(in no particular order)

1. giving bosh an extension
2. going after a center, either pryzbilla or magloire
3. negotiating a buyout/retirement with alvin williams
4. negotiating a contract with mike james that doesnt kill our cap. maybe 3 yrs, @ $15million

in my opinion this is what Colangelo's priorities should be:

1. Re-sign CB4 to a max contract
2. Evaluate Sam Mitchell, if he likes what he sees give Mitchell a 3-4 year extension (I hope this happens)
3. Sign a solid free agent big man (1st option Nene, 2nd option Przybilla) or try to trade for jammal magloire (he's not a free agent this year)
4. Re-sign Mike James (give him a max of 5.5 mil a year)

1. Buy a phat crib in TDot.
2. Run around the Toronto offices proclaiming "I'm Rich, Biyotch"
3. Spread rumors to the media that the Suns are unhappy with Steve Nash.

For real ...

1. Extend Chris Bosh to a max deal
2. Fly overseas and convince Roko Ukic to come over ASAP
3. Unload the dead weight on this team (Alvin Williams, Eric Williams, & Rafael Araujo)
4. Convince Antonio Davis to stick around for half the MLE
5. Package the 2006 1st RND pick with above dead weight for two quality proven players (preferably Shane Battier, Mighty Mouse & Memphis 2007 1st RND pick)

Projected 2006-07 Lineup

PG - Mighty Mouse
SG - Roko Ukic
SF - Shane Battier
PF - Charlie V.
C - Chris Bosh

Oops, I did mean Alvin, I'll edit my original post. For future reference Toronto should stay away from anyone with the last name Williams.

Mike James is going to want more than 3 years at $5m per, and he will likely get something more like a 6-year deal at around $50m or so from a team in search of a point guard - there are quite a few of them out there

1) start calling my father "dad" instead of "jerry"- how weird is that?
2)fire sam mitchell, i'm tired of his excuses
3)buy vince's crib by the harbourfront
4)convince "hoffa" that he's really jimmy hoffa, raised from the dead and more importantly that he's ill-equip to play professional basketbal
5)thank rob babcock for the young talent and embry for the salary cap space
6)introduce myself to the hot interns and well...
7)hire some local guys to appease those who might perceive it as a total regime change as in nepotism in the hiring/firing of staff

Who are you guys going to dangle in hopes of acquiring Magloire? I'll tell you if I'm going to let Larry Harris pull the trigger on any prospective deals ahead of time [IMG] [IMG]

If I were Colangelo, my top priority would be locking up Bosh, and as soon as that was done, I'd bust my ass finding a legit wing/backcourt star to complement him. Jason Richardson maybe? Someone he can grow with. That way, Villanueva is allowed to develop his all around game instead of facing the pressure of becoming an immediate #2 scoring option. He needs to be allowed to develop his D before the team can really move forward with him. Also, getting another scoerer on the outside allows guys like Graham, Mo Pete and Mike James (if he sticks around) to play their roles instead of having to worry about scoring. It's my opinion that any time you get a studly young post presence like Bosh, the best thing you can do for him is get him a backcourt mate to grow with.

Shape City do you know if Roko has impressed in europe? I have been following his stats online and to be honest they seem pretty pedestrian. 5.4 ppg 1.7 rpg and 2.4 ast in 15mpg. Also he is only shooting 21% on 3's - - international threes.

Personally i feel as if Roko Is a project i would leave him in europe for another year for development. Also judging by his euro stats i would assume he's far from being an NBA starter.

He's been plagued with injuries this season. Roko plays very aggressive and is reckless with his body. He's very similar to Ginobili in his approach to offense.

I would just bring him in now to see if his style fits with Bosh and if the chemistry is there. I'd want to evaluate his potential impact on the roster before I made a decision on Mike James. If I felt Roko isn't going to be ready for another 3 or 4 years, then I could justify signing James to a longer deal. If I felt Roko would be ready earlier, then I'd start fielding offers for a sign and trade deal involving Mike James.

What Colangelo should first do is to pay close attention to March Madness. We do need a center but we might not have to go to free agency. Shelden Williams, Tiago Splitter, Lamarcus Aldridge, Paul Davis and Josh Boone could all fill the role. It should be wiser to save our money on the free agent market for the big crop of 2007, and the first priority in the summer of 06 should be to get a good rookie, then retaining Mike James. Getting Ukic would also help.

Maybe we could waive Alvin Williams under the Amnesty rule too to create even more cap room for 2007?

EDIT: Oh and I almost forgot. Secure Bosh for the long-term.

1) Sign Bosh long term
2) Good quality SG/SF (Dunleavy or Battier I think would be a perfect)
3) Shot Blocking Center
4) Unload the remaining Williamses
