<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So what makes sense? Here's a look at the 10 most likely deals for Garnett this summer: 1. Los Angeles Clippers: Sorry, Bulls fans. Garnett lives in Malibu and the Clippers could put together a much better package than the Lakers. It would help them retain Sam Cassell, whom Garnett worked well with in Minnesota and can take that last shot. Watching Garnett being triple-teamed now is sad. Plus, the Clippers have what Garnett and Cassell didn't have, a center in Chris Kaman. How about Elton Brand, Corey Maggette as he returns from surgery and Shaun Livingston for perhaps Garnett and Mark Madsen, the latter to dance at the Clippers' championship rally. 2. Golden State Warriors: Figure this will be the summer they try to make the big splash, and they have the assets. They could put together something appealing with their No. 1 pick, Jason Richardson and Troy Murphy and perhaps throw in one of their European kids, like Andris Biedrins or Zarko Cabarkapa. 3. Indiana Pacers: They've got a big piece in Jermaine O'Neal, whom they probably would deal for someone like Garnett. Perhaps with one of their guards, like Jamaal Tinsley, Anthony Johnson or Sarunas Jasikevicius and a No. 1 pick, it would be enough for the Timberwolves to come away looking whole and with some assets. 4. New York Knicks: Well, they do have a lot of players. And they have two No. 1 draft picks this season, though in the bottom half, probably from Denver and San Antonio. Maybe the two No. 1s, Channing Frye, Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford and David Lee. Minnesota would have to think about it for Garnett and an extra like Madsen, and if they have bad contracts the Knicks surely would take them. 5. Los Angeles Lakers: Garnett is their rebuilding plan with Amare Stoudemire and Yao Ming having re-signed. Garnett and Kobe Bryant would be enough to be back in serious contention. Perhaps Lamar Odom, promising kid center Andrew Bynum, whomever else they may want and a No. 1 draft pick? It's not like the Lakers got that much for O'Neal. If Garnett chooses a place to go and is insistent, the Timberwolves have to get the best they can to avoid a scene. And Garnett, who some label a high-level Don Knotts-type since he is best as a supporting man in the end, badly needs a finisher to play with to have the kind of ultimate success he seeks. 6. Bulls: The Timberwolves need to build and the Bulls have pieces. The risk with Garnett is he has played more than 30,000 minutes and never is hurt. How long can he keep that up? But in the East, he could make a big difference. Perhaps the Knicks' No. 1 pick, which the Bulls own and seems certain to be in the top 5 if not No. 1, Ben Gordon, Chris Duhon and Andres Nocioni? Maybe even throw in the Bulls' other No. 1, which should be toward the middle of the first round. The Bulls can absorb Garnett's salary with their salary-cap space. The assumption is the Timberwolves, like the Lakers did with O'Neal, would give Garnett veto over certain deals. So the question is whether the Bulls would have enough left to be a high-level competitor and be attractive to Garnett. 7. Dallas Mavericks: I've long thought this one fit. And if the Mavericks are an early playoff victim, it might make sense with their new defensive direction to offer Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry in a sign-and-trade. 8. New Jersey Nets: Wouldn't they love to continue to stick it to the Knicks? And they have some big pieces they can give up, like Vince Carter or Richard Jefferson. Remember, Garnett isn't going just anywhere. Figure it should be a major market or somewhere he can win. Maybe Carter, Nenad Krstic and their two No. 1s, their own and the Clippers'. 9. Philadelphia 76ers: Hard to see the Timberwolves taking on Allen Iverson, but you can assume the 76ers will make a run with him. Something like Iverson, their No. 1 pick and a piece like Andre Iguodala or Kyle Korver. Hey, people seem to go to games everywhere but Philadelphia to see Iverson. 10. Boston Celtics: This is the big strike Minnesota supposedly has been holding back for. So make it Pierce, Al Jefferson and the No. 1 pick, which would give the Timberwolves plenty to build with, though it might look a little too much like Celtics Midwest after the Ricky Pierce deal. Wally Szczerbiak and Garnett back together again?</div> Source
This writer is distorting KG's value quite a bit. There's no way Mark Cuban is going to give away Dirk and Jason Terry for KG. That is Nuts. And Jason Richardson, Troy Murphy and a No.1 pick for KG AND maybe Biedrins??? THat's insane. Hasn't this writer heard of the TMac and Shaq trades? Superstars are undervalued right now.
The Clippers wouldn't do that deal, are you kidding me? Brand, who is no doubt better than KG this year, Maggette, AND Livingston for Garnett and Madsen? What a joke...
Wow, i didn't even read that clippers one fully. Elton Brand is better than KG, at least this year anyway. If Isaiah would seriously offer 3 out of the 4 of crawford, frye, lee and francis, minnesota would and should do that in a heartbeat. I don't think LA can compete with that. plus isaiah is always trying to upgrade the star power of the knicks, he would offer ANYTHING to get a KG caliber player
wow! Imagine...kg in l.a. Not trading kobe, but starting line up kevin garnett, brian cook, chis mihm, kobe bryant, and sasha... only two players that can really conquer.. But wow, the LAKERS would be unstoppable...wow
yeah, they'd be almost as good as the clippers are now. sorry that lineup is not scaring me that much

Dallas can move both Terry and Dirk - although can and want are two completely different words. Devin Harris can move right in to start for the departed Terry, and Garnett can take Dirk's spot. It doesn't seem like something that would happen, but I certainly wouldn't call it a crazily outrageous proposal. Just think: PG: Devin Harris SG: Marquis Daniels SF: Josh Howard PF: Kevin Garnett C: DeSagana Diop, Eric Dampier EDIT: And for Minnesota: PG: Jason Terry, Marcus Banks SG: Rashad McCants SF: Ricky Davis PF: Dirk Nowitzki C: Eddie Griffin, Mark Blount
This article is horrible. They have the Bulls offering their entire future and the Clips offering Elton Brand, Maggette, AND Livingston. The they have the Lakers offering Odom, Bynum, and their pick? It is obvious the author of this article is a Laker fan.

Ya but I get what Deisel is saying. The deals this guy is throwing out are TERRIBLE!!! like Stephen A. Smith says. Why would the Clippers trade their whole team away. Brand and Livingston alone IMO are worth more now than KG. The Nets will probably wait and see if Bosh opts for free agency and then make a move for a premere big man. I see KG heading to Golden St. It's seems the most logic and he'll be with Baron Davis. What am exciting duo that would be to watch.
The problem I have with his Golden State proposal is this: <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">...and perhaps throw in one of their European kids, like Andris Biedrins or Zarko Cabarkapa.</div> Biedrins isn't much of a throw-in type player anymore, at least in my eyes.
If Minnesota gives KG a say in where he wants to go, you can expect him to pick one of the L.A. teams (cancel the Clippers out, they aren't interested in him if they finish the year strong) or Chicago.
I must agree with the majority of you, and say that it is a terrible article. As it was stated a few posts up, KG has not been playing well this season, well not as well as he has been the last few seasons. If the Clippers GM ever traded Elton Brand, Corey Magette <u>AND</u> Shaun Livingston for Kevin Garnett & Mark Masden, he'd deserved to be fired, if not shot, definatley fired. I'd even expect Minnesota to throw in more with KG for Elton Brand alone. Also why trade A.I for Garnett when you have Webber who is playing just as well.
If the Wolves want to rebuild, Jalen Rose + Mo' Taylor + Frye + Lee might be able to make things interesting. 27 million off the books and two promising rookies.
How is it that every team has to give up 2-3 huge pieces of their team for KG. But the lakers have to give up Odom and throw-ins. You have the clippers giving them Brand (and MVP candidate) Maggette (definite #2 guy) and Livingston (huge potential and blue chip prospect). Lookes like the Lakers would get a steal for their deal.
These days in the NBA you never see superstars traded for equal value. If KG is traded this summer, its because the T-Wolves have given up on trying to contend for a championship. I just hope the 76ers don't give up Iguodala for him.
*praying for Lakers to get this deal * Please...Kobe...KG....wait. they would stll suck...those 2 combined only amount for 64 ppg.....pffft.(kobe 40 lol, KG 24.). they need like 5 good players...cant believe they traded caron for that scrub . shoulda made a push for Darko Milicic. He's doin great in Orlando
