<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bravest:</div><div class="quote_post">I dissagree. Dallas can move both Terry and Dirk - although can and want are two completely different words. Devin Harris can move right in to start for the departed Terry, and Garnett can take Dirk's spot. It doesn't seem like something that would happen, but I certainly wouldn't call it a crazily outrageous proposal. Just think: PG: Devin Harris SG: Marquis Daniels SF: Josh Howard PF: Kevin Garnett C: DeSagana Diop, Eric Dampier EDIT: And for Minnesota: PG: Jason Terry, Marcus Banks SG: Rashad McCants SF: Ricky Davis PF: Dirk Nowitzki C: Eddie Griffin, Mark Blount</div> it's not so much anyone saying that it would be a bad trade, but any writer should know the mavs aren't gonna trade dirk, they turned down are chance to trade him for shaq, they're not gonna give up a cuban favorite for a player who is arguably as good as KG at least this season
KG's big and increasing salary has to be a factor. The Warriors need to move at least ONE of their "baggage" contracts...especially seeing that KG becomes a $24 mill per year guy. Richardson currently scores more than KG,Murphy is about even rebounding. Toss in our hope for starting C,Biedrens and/or a lotto pick who could be Sheldon Williams,Reddick,or traded down for other gains....W's end up paying Lux Tax,and still a borderline playoff team. I see the Bulls in a good spot, but they may be thinking more about building to win for a decade rather than go for a 2-3 year window of opportunity. Knicks, like the Warriors, are a meltdown, though for different reasons..and that makes me wonder if KG would accept a move to a team floundering until an upswing was seen. Lakers? Lakers have a situation where everyone else is "supporting cast" and KG would be a real co-star. In Kobe's shadow,Odum,Bynum, etc, won't be that productive. Lakers can be generous, figure the Window of opportunity, for Kobe and KG matches, and some low cost role players call complete the roster. Clips? maybe.Dallas? not likely,KG is older, more $ than Dirk, offsetting a modest upgrade short run. Celtics? The sleeper,Celts have the main guy in Pierce, plus some attractive add ins. Depending on the fillers, the trouble might be that Boston emerges looking just like the Minny teams that couldn't get to the top.
For Garnett to come to LA that means shipping off Bynum, Odom, and a first round draft pick. The lineup will consist of George, Cook "who is evolving" and Smush.
If I were Minnesota, I'd check the Clippers, Indiana, and Golden State. Str8 up. Ur not going to get equal value for KG, but if you can get a Brand, Jermaine O'Neal, Cory Maggette, JRich, or Baron Davis in a package you've pretty much accomplished ur goal. This might be interesting. I personally wanna see KG on the Clippers. They're moving in the right direction and he'll be able to stay in the West where the talent is lol.
hmmm IMO i'd only like KG in LA if we could find a way not to trade kobe and lamar hahaha!!! PG: Whoever i left SG: Kobe SF: Odom PF: KG C: Whoever is left )
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting kobe23:</div><div class="quote_post">hmmm IMO i'd only like KG in LA if we could find a way not to trade kobe and lamar hahaha!!!</div> I think if KG was acquired, losing Odom would not be an issue.
I know Dallas likes the team they have. They are worried about injuries but feel like if they get their top 5 healthy, and have Daniels and Stackhouse and either Griffin or Harris coming off the bench, and if they have both centers healthy and playing inspired, then they feel they can win any game series. If they don't this year, I truly don't think you'll see many changes in the offseason. Everyone will be encouraged to stay in shape, not play in unsanctioned pickup games, and make another run in 2007. If Nowitzki, Terry, Harris, Howard and company don't make it to and win the finals in 06 or 07, then I think ownership will look at the guard situation and possibly look for another center to start or back up Dampier.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting SkiptoMyLue11:</div><div class="quote_post">I think if KG was acquired, losing Odom would not be an issue.</div> yes, odom is about consistency and KG... I don't have to say anything.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting phunDamentalz:</div><div class="quote_post">This writer is distorting KG's value quite a bit. There's no way Mark Cuban is going to give away Dirk and Jason Terry for KG. That is Nuts. And Jason Richardson, Troy Murphy and a No.1 pick for KG AND maybe Biedrins??? THat's insane. Hasn't this writer heard of the TMac and Shaq trades? Superstars are undervalued right now.</div> Yer i totally agree! How could you give up that for KG! Clippers are giving away abit as well in there trade. I cant see these happening. Maybe the Knicks trade, who knows what Isiah would do! The Bulls looks promising with the Knicks pick lol
I wouldn't mind the Bulls giving up the knicks 1st rounder, pargo, and I guess Nocioni for KG. This lineup would would be sick. C: Chandler PF: KG!!!! SF: Deng SG: Gordon PG: Hinrich 6th Man: Josh McRoberts?!?!? Prolly not Shelden Williams? Seems possible http://nbadraft.net/
LA has nothing anyone would want! <div class="quote_poster">Quoting i-eat-nets:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm really seeing this deal in the Lakers way, i think they can actually pull it off.</div> I would love to have KG and Kobe together, but what's in it for Minn. The Lakers have nothing to offer and KG is under contract, how stupid would Minn. have to be to give up KG for nothing, only Mitch could do that with a superstar.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NTC187:</div><div class="quote_post"> I'd even expect Minnesota to throw in more with KG for Elton Brand alone.</div> That's a joke, isn't it? I love Elton, but one season doesn't make a player. KG has been putting up 22/12/5 since the beginning of time, has been the playoffs basically every season, while the Clippers have been horrible for ages, and one good season means Brand is more valuable than KG? Not likely.

I don't think Garnett will even be traded. Minny aren't that dumb to trade their franchise player unless he demands a trade, which he won't cause he wants to "remain loyal to the Timberwolves"
I was thinking about KG being traded earlier this year, and I though "what about Washington?" I mean they have that definite potential for the inequal superstar trading thing, and they are a team that could really use that one last peace to go on a strong playoff run. I dunno.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dallasdude:</div><div class="quote_post">KG will end up in Dallas when its all said and done.</div> Dallas would make sense, but who do you see the Mavs trading to acquire KG?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dallasdude:</div><div class="quote_post">KG will end up in Dallas when its all said and done.</div> The Wolves would ask for no less then Dirk. They would be stupid to let KG go to Dallas without getting Dirk back in return. Kevin Garnett won't leave the Timberwolves unless they trade him without his consent. He takes pride in the fact that he's still in Minnesota going through the rough. He feels he'll earn respect for this. The fact is that he will never leave because he won't let himself, no matter how much he wants to. Can you honestly see KG asking for a trade because he wants to win a championship? The farest he will go is by demanding better players on his team.
