Philadelphia (28-28) at Houston (25-32) 9:00 pm EST

HOUSTON (Ticker) -- With Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming back at full strength, the Houston Rockets are prepared to launch towards another victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Rockets will look to post their eighth straight win over the 76ers when the teams square off Wednesday for an interconference matchup.

Houston recorded an 87-81 triumph in Philadelphia on February 6 behind Yao's 27 points and 12 rebounds. Rafer Alston added a career-high five 3-pointers en route to 19 points for the Rockets, who held the Sixers without a basket for a stretch of more than 15 minutes into the second half.

Philadelphia has dropped 22 of the last 26 meetings and has not beaten Houston since a 112-106 overtime victory on January 15, 2002.

The Rockets posted a 10-3 mark in February but concluded the month on a sour note Monday, dropping a 111-94 decision against Phoenix. Yao collected 27 points and 18 rebounds but McGrady scored only 13 on 6-of-18 shooting as Houston's three-game winning streak came to an end.

Still, the Rockets are 18-9 this season with both their All-Stars in the lineup.

Philadelphia also had its three-game run ended Monday as it came up short against Dallas, 104-92. Allen Iverson scored 29 points and Chris Webber and Kyle Korver chipped in 19 apiece for the 76ers, who played without center Samuel Dalembert (ankle) for the third straight game and were outrebounded, 45-28.

We better win this game bcuz if we wanna make it to the playoffs we gotta beat the teams we are capable of beating.. From now on, if we wanna make the playoffs, we gotta beat the easy teams cuz we cant beat the good teams like mavs or suns or spurs.. We gotta beat the sry teams

We need this win...and YES there are some pretty tough teams coming up, so we better get the W on the easy ones.

NOTE: Yao needs 15rebs to average "the big one O" for rebs. So lets just hope we can secure this win and for Yao to get 10rebs/game (and maintain that for the rest of the season). [IMG]

Yao is averaging 26.8 ppg and 16.3 rpg over the last four games.. Yao and Alston better dominate.. Wesley will have Iverson on him..(Finally about time he is playing defense on someone shorter than him).. Alston has Kevin Ollie.. and since yao is averaged 25+ and 15 rebs+.. he needs to have atleast 30 points and 15 rebs... t-mac better hit his stuff and forget about the offcourt issues

Seems like the Rockets are tanking the rest of the season with barry being waived so it is hard to root for the home team.

As much as I like Wesley, Iverson is going to burn, own, pwn, and rip him apart.

We definitely won't be that high. Bobcats, Hawks, and Trailblazers basically claim the first three spots with Chicago (New York's Pick) getting the forth.

I agree with u... If they can't beat the sry teams or the good teams, theb who can they beat. If they wanna lose to teams they know they can beat, they suck. I'm 100%percent sure they won't make it to the playoffs? And wat if they do, wats the point, theyr'e gonna get knocked out in the first round like always!they can't beat the good teams.. If we match up with mavs we'll lose since we can't beat the good teams. Go rockets losing streak starting now... Welcome to the draft pick.... Trade tmac for kobe or ljames!

While I recognize it's kind of lame to question some coaching decisions after the fact, I kind of wish Van Gundy would have left Bogans and Hayes on the floor.

As for Swift not playing, I'm fine with that. I honestly think Hayes contributes much more to the team, even if he's not scoring as many points. But something tells me that after this loss, JVG might go back to him in the next game and bench Hayes. Oh well.

Lakers have a tough week coming up. I expect them to fall from 8, and Sac and/or Utah overtake them. I dont want to expect to much from none of the 3 though.

    The 12th through the 23rd.
The toughest part of the Rockets schedule left for the Rockets.
    8 games, all good teams
6 games against West playoff teams. 2 withDal 2 with Spurs

After that it will be clearer on what direction the team should go in, not saying if they do well they will make it to the playoffs because they still lose to bad teams.

This was a very demoralizing loss. I can't believe no one Rockets stepped up to take over the game. On the Sixers side, it was Iverson. On the Rockets, Yao started taking jumpshots instead of trying to get deep positioning, and I did not see Tracy demand the ball and take charge like a Kobe. Also, our guards are as inconsistent from the three as you can get. At this point, I might be more optimisitc seeing Yao take threes than Wesley or Alston. What do people think about having Yao develop a three point shot. He is definitely capable of it.

And what the hell happened at the end of the game. The team gave up sooner than hey should have. Only Yao was trying to foul. He ran all over the court trying to stop the clock with a foul while everyone stood around. With the amount of time left on the clock, and with Mcgrady on the team, we should not have gave up the game that soon.

Aside from the need for outside shooters, I thought this game showed the need for a shot-blocking, defensive-minded PF to play with Yao. The Rockets do not really need Juwan's offense when they already have Yao and T-Mac. Hopefully, Swift can develop into that defensive player the Rockets need down low. I was actually hoping the Rockets traded for Darko Millic. Judging from the his stats when given some playing time, he could become a good player who can block shots.

One good thing did happen last night, and that is the Lakers also lost. Playoffs are in reach, but it will require some hard work. 42 wins seems like it might be enough to get into the postseason. If we can win the four games before meeting the Spurs, we would be a good position.

I saw t-mac take it in more and i like that cuz he can score easily like dat.. They need to put chuck hayes in da game more.. dis guy is only like 6-6 and plays pf.. he is only 6-6 and he hustles, gets offensive rebs, and make the layup after the ofensive reb..

This was a devastating loss. Everyone should be blamed for this loss. Tracy's shooting was still off and he didn't try to take over the game when AI was doing all the damage. Yao Ming should have been more aggressive instead of taking jumpers. JVG shouldn't let Yao Ming play most of the 3rd and all of the 4th quarter. Granted, the Sixers went on a huge run without Yao. But you need to let the big man have some rest to be effective by the end. Rockets need better 3 point shooters. JVG should have take out Wesley and put in Luther Head.

Anyway... don't lose hope people. We're still capable of making a run since both Hornets and Lakers lost last night. Besides, we're done playing Phoenix.

But if I remember correctly, we have four more games against Dallas and San Antonio.
