<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> As the chance of landing Paterson product Tim Thomas became extinct, the Nets saw a flicker of hope for bench help arise with the possibility that Eric Williams of Newark might be bought out of his contract in Toronto and come back to New Jersey. But that's not going to happen, either. Within minutes of the announcement that GM Bryan Colangelo was leaving Phoenix for Toronto, Williams' camp placed a call asking about a buyout and was told no way. Williams, traded by the Nets in the Vince Carter deal of December, 2004, has more than $1 million remaining on his $3.93 million deal this season, plus another year, at his option, for $4.296 million. Toronto wants to hold on to expiring contracts as trade assets ? unlike the Knicks. </div> - New York Post http://www.nypost.com/sports/nets/62569.htm
Excellent. I love it when GM's don't give into players who piss and moan. Why the hell should BC do this baby any favors. Maybe he can take a page out of Paxson's book and tell Eric Williams to go sit at home for the rest of the year, like the Bulls did with Tim Thomas.
man, how often does this guy ask to be traded or bought out? what does he do...does he like leave post-it notes on colangelo's fridge, saying "please trade me tomorrow" or something...jesus christ
that was funny eric must have thought he can actually take advantage of the new GM but he forgot the gm's name is Colangelo
