I haven't caught that many rox games recently but i noticed from the stats that yao has been really rebounding the ball, what's happening? is he just becoming more agressive on rebounding now or is it luck or what is it? why all of a sudden is he getting like 15 boards a game?

maybe his bell on how to grab rebounds got rang by whatever. he's 7'6" god d**n it, he should of been expected to do that.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting back-on-track:</div><div class="quote_post">maybe his bell on how to grab rebounds got rang by whatever. he's 7'6" god d**n it, he should of been expected to do that.</div> Uh huh. Because there's a really strong track record of players over 7'3 rebounding the ball. Oh wait ...
If yao gets 12 rebounds today he gets the 10 if the league rounds up. 14 to make over 10 without rounding.
if he is working on tipping he's just gotta study some d-rodman film, the way rodman rebounded it sometimes looked like he was playing volleyball.
Yao has no vertical and has short arms (7'3" wingspan compared to 7'6" height). Plus our Rockets have some good rebounders, whether or not Yao rebounds won't significantly change the outcome of the game.
yeah Yao can't really jump.. he broke his foot when he was younger and he can't jump properly but he seems more active lately and he's playing with a lot of aggressiveness which is great to see.. let's see how he does without TMac in the lineup.
Here are some charts to show how Yao's rebounding has progressed this season: Total Rebounds per 40 minutes After some nice rebounding games to start the season, they was a big drop in late November. But since then, his rebounding average has generally improved. The last few weeks have been great. Defensive Rebounds Per 40 minutes His defensive rebounding has generally been very good since coming back from toe surgery, though there was a bit of a dip just before the Allstar break. Since the break, there's been a dramatic improvement. Offensive Rebounds per 40 minutes After a decent start to the season, his offensive rebounding steadily declined up through early February. But since the break, he's been on a tear.
As of yesterday's game, Yao is offically a 20/10 guys. Lets hope he stays that way for the rest of the season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With his height Id expect him to grab at least 15 rebounds a game </div> With the slowness and coordination that comes with the height, I'd expect him to grab under 8 rebounds a game.
If yao keeps this up a little longer, he'll officially hold the record for tallest player to ever average 20 and 10...take that bol, muresan!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting bigballer111:</div><div class="quote_post">With his height Id expect him to grab at least 15 rebounds a game </div> some of the best rebounders in the game were undersized - barkley, rodman.. rebounding is not just about height. If it were, Jason Kidd wouldn't be outrebounding most C's in the league.
