We knew it was coming. Dirk's at his post season form already. 2-7 from the floor and playing no D. Hope the rest of the Mavs step up and get the win.
uh up by 2 probably doesn't mean being outplayed no matter what it looked like.....are you a Mavs fan or what? and why the Dirk bashing? Dirk's postseason numbers are fine. come on man where is the love. can't you see that this is a different team than the Don Nelson Mavs? that their mindset is different?
This Mavs team is one of the best in our franchise, but Dirk's the only one that's going to stop the Mavs from winning the title. Where is he when his team needs most? He picks 2 early fouls today, goes to the bench whining and has been a total non-factor thus far. He just isn't comfortable being the main man in this team. We're going to see the same performance from him this post season as well. Its about time the Mavs make the move this summer and get Garnett.
Not a good sign for the Spurs. They are down by 2, and Dirk is ice cold to start the game. I'm rooting for the Mavs to win. I'd love to see a Mavs v. Laker 1st round matchup.
Spurs 97 Mavs 92 Grades: Spurs Give Clinic in Defense Pop gets is 500th win by coming back on the Mavs. All it took was the Spurs shooting over 60% and turning the ball over only once. The Mavs started out well in the first period, 22-14, but the Spurs took the last three quarters. Jason, bringing the ball up, was often the only option for the Mavs as no one could get open. Michael Finley, the ex-Maverick that Cuban is still paying had 11 of his 15 points and 2 big assists to Robert Horry in the fourth period to help keep the Mavs at bay. One of the heroes for the Spurs was Bruce, who despite giving up 7 inches to Dirk harassed Dirk into tough shot after tough shot (6-15 from the field). One of these days, Dirk is going to have to figure out how to set up on the block with a 6?5? player guarding him. Johnson: D, Avery got his hat handed to him by one of his mentors, Gregg Poppovich. Howard: C+; Josh was one of the few highlights for the Mavs despite dealing with foul trouble. Howard had 15 points (7-13 FG, 0-1 treys, 1-2 FT), 3 rebounds and 1 steal. The problem was Josh had 8 points in the first, 2 in the second, 2 in the third, and 3 in the fourth. Score one for Pop. Zero turnovers. +13 Nowitzki: D; Dirk did have 23 points (6-15 FG, 1-5 treys, 10-10 FT) and 11 rebounds, but was far from dominant on the floor as the 6?5? Bruce Bowen hounded Dirk all over the perimeter of the floor. One of these days Dirk needs to find out how successful Bruce will be defending Dirk on the block. +25 Diop: C-; DeSagana was not quite ready for prime time, earning only 18 minutes. Diop did have a nice blocked shot to go with 5 rebounds, but when the Spurs tightened the screws?. +3 Terry: C+; Jason was at times the only option as the Mavs offense was a total disaster. Jason matched Dirk?s 23 points (7-16 FG, 1-5 treys, 8-8 FT) to go with 2 rebounds, 1 blocked shot, and 1 assist against 3 turnovers. +16 Griffin: C; Adrian did fairly well as Manu was pretty much a non-factor tonight, but Adrian was unable to capitalize on offense, going 1-5 from the field. Zero turnovers. +1 Dampier: C+; Erick worked hard for his 28 minutes tonight on his way to 6 points (3-4 FG, 0-1 FT) and 8 rebounds. Erick also pitched in 2 blocked shots and an assist. +13 Stackhouse: D; Jerry?s forte is driving the basket and earning his living from the line. Jerry went to the line one time. Jerry got 10 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 treys, 2-2 FT) to go with 7 rebounds, but coughed the ball up for 3 turnovers that all led to Spurs points. +12 Van Horn: D; Keith was little more effective than Dirk offensively, scoring 6 points (2-8 FG, 1-3 treys, 1-2 FT) to go with 2 rebounds. +0 Armstrong : C+; Darrell brought his spark off the bench with Devin out, but it wasn?t enough tonight. Darrell got 2 points and 2 assists in 8 minutes. +3 Daniels: C-; Marquis had 2 points, 2 rebounds and 2 turnovers in 9 minutes. +2 M?Benga: DNP-CD. Marshall : DNP-CD Harris: DNP-CD, Inactive. Devin is out with a left quad contusion. Podkolzin: DNP-CD, Inactive. Pavel had surgery to repair his right foot and ankle. Powell: DNP-Inactive, Josh has been sent to the Fort Worth Flyers (NBDL) to get playing time. Typical Chef Ed Type
I have lost a lot of respect for Horry after this. Why kind of professional bites another mans arm, thats horrible.
Looks like Horry bit Terry's arm as well. It was a late game in San Antonio, but come on, he could've gotten something from McDonalds or something.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting $Quan$:</div><div class="quote_post">Both teams are kinda getting boring now. Tim Duncan is gettin old and can barley do anything.</div> AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA are you serious? I'm not going to justify this with a decent response.
well.. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Laker_fan:</div><div class="quote_post">AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA are you serious? I love Tim but it appears he may have peaked....hopefully he hasn't but it looks like that a bit. Guess we'll find out in May

He's only scoring 1 less point a game than usual. There are other players taking the leadership role now, so he can relax a little more. Age and injuries may be slightly effecting him aswell. 90% of the player last year is still a an MVP candidate. I don't think he is 90% of himself anyway, more like 95% of himself.
Duncan is producing less because other players are producing more. The Spurs backcourt is just insane. Anyone that thinks any team other than the Spurs is going to win the west is kidding themselves. People ALWAYS sleep on the Spurs and try to justify another team being better. Nonsense i say. Dirk quivers in the playoffs.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting $Quan$:</div><div class="quote_post">Both teams are kinda getting boring now. Tim Duncan is gettin old and can barley do anything.</div> What game were you watching? It has to be one of the top games this season. As for Duncan getting old, you need to open your eyes, he has all it takes to win another title. He makes the players around him better, even if tim only scores 6 the spurs can still win because he can draw the double. He still suffering on that ankle and i think is only at 85%
