The Sonics signed Noel Felix to a 10-day. Another forward...I thought they were going to sign a shooting guard? http://www.nba.com/sonics/news/felix060302.html
Well Felix really isn't a back to the basket forward so I'm guessing that he could spell Rashard in stretches and Damien would primarily be the back up to both the shooting guard and small forward. To me it doesn't make much sense to bring Noel back considering that they already got a good look at him during the summer league and training camp. If they were going to dip into the pot of the American minor leagues I'd like to see a name that hasn't already been associated (or cut) with (from) the organization already. None of the moves that we are going to make right now are going to be significant moves b/c the trade deadline has already passed. This season has obviously been scratched so I'm guessing that Rick is looking to give the players who he has courted a genuine opportunity to get minutes against proven NBA players--if not for the Sonics then for another team that could find interest. The move doesn't hurt us but I'd like to see some overseas veterans get an opportunity in the league at some point. When are Marcus Brown and J.R. Holden going to get that league invite?

Felix can play back to basket, and did so in the preseason. He looked like a bigger, more offensive version of Reggie. I agree that his strength was put backs and solid midrange jumper from the high post, but it looked like he could play with his back to the basket. With Vlade, Vitaly and Reggie gone it made sense to have a third guy who could step in at the 3 or the 4 and give some energy off the bench. What happens if Wilcox or Wilkens were to get injured or ill...he is the perfect swing for the third option. Moore wouldn't fit at the three, though he is a fine 3rd option at the 4 or the 5. After seeing Earl and Wilks, the perimeter looks more shored up, but their were holes in the front line. Remember, they only need to get through March and part of April...we aren't seeing the post season green and gold this year.
First time I've seen this kid Felix play - whoo he had a monster block shot in garbage time where he had to be up near the square. He looks to have some decent springs and is long armed as well.

He's played center and power forward his whole life. He's only begun playing small forward a bit since being around the Sonics. He jumped center this whole season in the CBA. The reason the Sonics brought him back is because they really would have liked to have kept him after preseason, but since Mateen's contract was partially guaranteed and Brunson was injured chose to keep him instead. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Roland:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah that's what he looked like. By the way, that block on Humphries was sick, but they accidentally credited it to Mikki in the box score instead of Felix.
Cool...thanks for all that info. Seems like this was your first post...so...welcome to the forum. Oh and I saw that on the box. How can they not have given that block to Felix?
Haha...yeah its verryy easy to mistake him for Mikki Moore...their hair is just so much alike. They probably just gave it to the guy who was standing the closest to him.
