He has been playing much better lately. Anyone remember last year when he had that dunk over Marcus Camby and started screaming at him?
Problem is that he's in a pretty ordinary environment. Hopefully he can succeed, but i don't think any rookie is going to be fully confident whilst their franchise players future is up in the air.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting vcwannabe15:</div><div class="quote_post">I remember at the begining of the year he set a goal that he will get 10 assists per game lol.</div> Seriously?
Yeah, McCants can light up the scoreboard very quickly. The problem is he doesn't play consistently enough. Then again he is a rookie so hes not supposed to be consistent.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jerry West:</div><div class="quote_post">Seriously?</div> 'Timberwolves rookie guard Rashad McCants, already sidelined by a variety of injuries in his young NBA career, is setting lofty goals for this season. Despite taking a conservative approach with groin and ankle injuries, he claims he wants to average 10 assists this season, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune.' The link doesn't work, but shape posted it back in preseason.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jerry West:</div><div class="quote_post">Seriously?</div> He was like that at UNC. Very quiet, sort of a loner; not that there's anything wrong with that. Then he would show brilliance on the court, then he would disappear on the court. He seemed to give the impression that basketball was his escape and how he expressed his feelings: his game reflecting his mood or making a statement. He was cut from the US Junior Team although Justin Gray of Wake Forest who was their MVP said he was the most talented player at the camp. When I said I thought he was a bit insecure, and that he would play well in a couple of years; I was gauging at what age I thought he would become more comfortable in his own skin and quit worrying about what other people thought about him, and when that happened he would just play and his true talent would be more apparent to the average fan. I'm sure the dynamic with Garnett's displeasure with the team and it's management is unsettling as well.
