No thread up yet so i thought I'd throw it out there. If you didn't watch the first half congradulations on not wasting your life. I thought i was going to gouge by eyes out it was so damn ugly (one nice dunk by Jefferson but that's it!). I think Kevin O'neil dropped by to run the raptors offense for the first half.
Why was Bosh never set up in the post? I can't understand this. He can't beat Jefferson off the dribble, so why not let him play with his back to the basket? He's shown that he can play that way. Our guards let us down with stupid turnovers in overtime. Even when he hit that 3 or that layup, I hated Mike James' shots at the end. That pass to Villanueva off the pick was one of the only plays where he looked to create for someone else.
I think the scouting report on mike james is out finally... he's not as effective as he has been earlier on in the season in terms of breaking down defenders and so on... Teams are realizing if you get the guy to over-dribble the ball he'll hold on to it and it stagnates our offense. Also, they put a guard on the guy with quick hands to get james to cough up the ball…
I think it's fair to say that we can't take of the ball down the stretch, and thus we can't execute. Bosh didn't make much of an effort in the late 4th and OT to goto the basket as he was settling for little hooks on Jefferson and jumpshots. It's not all his fault though, we weren't getting him the ball down low in the post.
what was with the Chris bosh face-ups against jefferson on the 3-point line? I really hope they didn't call that play, although it was so far out of our regular offensive flow it's almost like they did.
Ratz, I was really pulling for us to get this match. Jefferson showed up today though. I also agree with Chutney and a13x with their comments on James and Bosh respectively. My question is though, whats going on with Joey Graham, is it the rookie wall or what? He's really slumped off big time.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting RY0260:</div><div class="quote_post"><font size=""7""><font color=""Red"">U GUYS SUCK SO U CANT BEAT US!! NETS > Raptors</font></font></div> Don't insult the Raptors. They have bad record but I think they have a good team. I'm impressed by Peterson, Bosh and James. I don't like when people insult the Nets, so don't insult the Raptors either.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- Jason Kidd had his fifth triple-double of the season, but his biggest contribution might have come during a fourth quarter timeout. Kidd suggested to Nets coach Lawrence Frank that he put 6-foot-7 Richard Jefferson on Toronto center Chris Bosh, who had been practically unstoppable since the beginning of the third quarter. The move worked wonders as Jefferson clamped down on Bosh and the Nets held Toronto to one field goal in more than 10 minutes spanning regulation and overtime in a 105-100 win on Saturday. "He came up with the idea to go small," said Jefferson, who scored 30 points to go with 31 by Vince Carter. "Bosh posts up, but he likes to shoot jumpers, and we were able to take that away from him. You need to crowd and use your quickness on him." New Jersey (32-26) snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 15-2 in its last 17 home games dating back to mid-December. Toronto (20-38) lost its sixth straight game. Bosh scored just two points in the first half but had 14 in the third quarter and was proving too quick for the likes of Jason Collins, Nenad Krstic and Clifford Robinson. Jefferson was able to shut down Bosh's outside game. "At that point we had tried everything except going small," Kidd said. "So I suggested something different." Morris Peterson led Toronto with 25. Bosh finished with 23 but scored only seven points in the final 17 minutes. He missed a long jumper from the top of the key with five seconds left in regulation with Jefferson hounding him. "With a smaller guy, I should have taken him to the post," Bosh said. "I should have given up the ball and cut to the post. I was just too busy trying to make a play that I shouldn't have. I should have been a little smarter." </div> Link
Yea, that adjustment won the game for them. Its good that Bosh recognized what happened and took responsibility for it, but I can't believe that the coaching staff and the guards watched this and didn't even suggest he set up at the post.
The block by Bosh on Padgett was wicked! I just saw some of the highlights and breakdown of the game. What is your take on Bosh not adjusting to Jefferson guarding him down the stretch and taking him into the post? I think more teams might try using this strategy, because it takes away Bosh's speed advantage.

If the coaching had just made the adjustment, Jefferson wouldn't have been able to handle it. The last few months, I've noticed that Bosh has been playing predominantly off the jumper and off the dribble, mostly because his opponents can't defend both. But, he tend to forget that other facet of his game. I think it was just poor recognition by the coaching, the guards, and Bosh himself. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fever:</div><div class="quote_post">I actually missed the game, anybody wants to fill me in?</div> Jason Kidd outcoached Sam Mitchell.
