We are not gonna draft Redick unless something unforeseen happens. Maybe second round if his draft stock drops that. With the recent Hayes pick up, Shelden is out of the picutre. Now the Rockets are basically stuck with versatile athletic gaurds. We are addressing a major need by default.
Umm think about it recent back problems for JJ Redick at the age of 22?? Needing Surgery?? Needing 4-6month to recover? Doesn't that make your stock drop a lot?? You add in him DUI makes it drop even more.
Since the Rockets are looking for an athletic shooting guard/small forward, i say we get Rudy Gay. He is the best player that fits the Rockets needs.
Yeah I really want Rudy Gay. If we can't then we can get Brewer..yeaaah. What would you guys do if management didnt draft Gay, Brewer or Carney even if they were available? lol id go crazy.
I'd be angry if Gay was available and they didn't draft him. Brewer and Carney will both be available at #8.
Ronnie Brewer seems to be turning heads matching the athletic ability of Tyrus Thomas and Rudy Gay and Carney. He also didn't measure that out of height in the height test. What you al lthink bout him?
He is the second best option after Rudy Gay. He can not only play the SG/SF positions, but played PG a majority of the time at Arkansas. He is a defensive dynamo and would go great with Tmac and Yao. I would draft him over Carney, but never over Rudy Gay because Gay is also a complete player like Brewer, but is a notch ahead of Brewer in every catorgory.
There is also rumors that the #8 pick could get us the 12 and 15 picks from NO. Well if we do that plus buy the 10th pick from seattle for 3 million we could save ourselves a lot of money add some decent role players this season and future great role players. Like 10-Brewer 12-Simmons 15-Rondo what do you guys think of that? It also gives us more space to sign people in the future if we are every able to move Howard's contract and move our 10 mil of dead money. What do you all think? We get the tall SG/SF defender that is a lockdown defender that can also shoot with space. We get our possible option beside Yao. Simmons a rebounder a shotblocker, he is athletic but is also developing a mid ranged game that has looked good in workouts. We then get our back up PG that JVG wanted. A lightening quick penetrating guard that is unstoppable penetrating wise and playmaking wise and a jump shot that is looking good in drills but falls back to old ways in games but shows signs of being fixable and ability to become a decent shooter?? So how bout it?
This is what I would do 10- Ronnie Brewer 12-Jordan Farmar 15-Shawne Williams That would hold the roster at. PG: Farmar/ Alston/ Sura (Farmar would fit the rockets system better and alston would be a spark off the bench) SG: Brewer/ Head/ SF: Tmac/ Shawne Williams/ Rybo PF: Stromile/ Juwan/ Chuck Hayes C: Yao Ming/ Deke
I am not sold on Jordan Farmar. I know he is a true point guard. I know he is the kind of player we need. I know he looks a lot like Nash and Ridnour but I know he is proven in college. But i still like Rondo more for the simple fact JVG and Morey said they wanted good ATHLETES. Farmar is not a good athlete by any means. He is not quick compared to NBA points. Not really athletic and not real strong so he could be pushed around by the likes of jason kidd and people like that. I like rondo because he is off the charts everything athletically and can also playmake real well and his jump shot is shaping up so thats why i like him and not farmar. I believe rondo can fit the system as well as tony parker fits the spurs. I also still prefer Simmons because he is really athletic once again and has great rebounding and shotblocking skills something we really lack and has that ability to spread the defence with that mid ranged shot.
Jordan Farmar has the potential to be the next Jason Kidd and can score while Rondo can't score like Farmar can. Simmons will get pushed around in the NBA. Shawne Williams is only 19 and put up 13 ppg and nice rebound and assists. He can play any of the bottom 4 positions. Thats what comes to me.
On many mocks and draft sites says Shawne WIlliams has not been impressing and may slip to the second round so i wouldn't take him with that kind of pick.
I would actually love for us to trade up to get Andrea Bargnani Maybe trade for the first pick or the forth pick because charlotte doesn't want a pf or toronto since they want marcus williams. We could package 32 and 8 for the first or forth to get bargnani. And then put 3 million dollars to the seattle supersonics and get ronnie brewer? We get our Pf WIth range, starting shooting guard with athleticism who can shoot and a lock down defender and we get our back up pg who we can pair with head. What do you all think?
A top 6 player might fall to us. Tyrus Thomas has supposedly been promised a top 3 pick. Heres mock draft through 8 Toronto- Bargani chicago- Tyrus Thomas Charlotte- Adam Morrison Portland- Lamarcus Aldridge Atlanta- Shelden Williams Minnesota- Rudy Gay Celtics- Brandon Roy Houston- Ronnie Brewer I hope we trade the 8th pick + juwan Howard for Rashard Lewis + 10 pick + cash
Juwan Howard for Rashard Lewis? I mean, the 8th pick is worth quite a lot but 10th isn't quite far off, especially in this draft. If the Sonics had a late first rounder, maybe the deal may come through but for them to trade away Rashard Lewis, who despite being in a contract year, still has three times the trade value of Juwan Howard? I see us parting ways with at least Swift and Head for that deal to go through. And frankly, I won't be too excited about it.
Right now I see the draft like this since the raps are high on Aldridge Bosh's Buddy 1.Lamarcus Aldridge 2.Tyrus Thomas 3.Adam Morrison 4.Brandon Roy 5.Sheldon WIlliams 6.Rudy Gay 7.Patrick O'Bryant/Marcus Williams/Sergio Rodriguez 8.Andrea Bargnani I am really dreaming that Bargnani falls to us. We should really buy the seattle pick for 3 million because they are willing because they need money and we need talent aka Brewer
I just want Bargnani to fall to us or we go up and get him. He looks real good. He could help us a lot in his rookie season. I really want him i would be willing to trade the 8 and 32 for a top 4 pick to get him since torono wants aldridge now. Or purchase seattles pick. Man if lindsey truely wants a championship he'd give them money to buy that pick and get brewer. If we get Bargnani and Brewer we have Rookie of year voting #1 and #2. Bargnani will be able to score more points here then in europe because in europe they play a system where no defence focus on stars and he always had to shoot with people on him and people guarding him. In nba people will be double teaming yao leaving him and brewer open for shots. Or when defenders are closing out faston him he could drive past them for a dunk. Brewer can because he has everything ready at a high level for the nba game. He is a legitimate 6'7" with ball handling and passing abilities of a decent point guard. Pretty good jump shot in terms of accuracy and a lock down defender. I do not see a problem of either of these players comming in and putting up 15 points per game for us. I don't even know why people would want Brandon Roy more then Ronnie Brewer
Supposedly Minnesota has Randy FOye at the top of their big board and Tyrus Thomas does have a gaurantee. Draft should look like this. Toronto- Bargani Chicago- Tyrus Thomas Charlotte-Adam Morrison Portland- Lamarcus Aldridge Atlanta- Brandon Roy Minnesota- Randy Foye Celtics- Rudy Gay Or marcus williams Houston- Ronnie brewer OR Rudy gay if celtics dont pick him.
