<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">[IMGR]http://www.nba.com/media/playerfile/luke_schenscher.jpg[/IMGR]The Chicago Bulls today signed Luke Schenscher of the NBDL to a 10-day contract. Schenscher, a 7-1, 265-pound center, will be with the Bulls tonight when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena at 6:30 P.M. CT. Schenscher joins Chicago from the Fort Worth Flyers of the D-League, where he has averaged 8.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.42 bpg and 1.2 apg in 36 appearances (34 starts). He has shot .530 from the floor and .607 from the free throw line. The Australian native played four seasons at Georgia Tech (2001-05), including a key role in the Yellow Jackets? run to the 2004 Final Four. In 119 games at Tech he averaged 7.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg and 1.32 bpg. Chicago?s roster now stands at 14. </div><div align="center"> Source</div>
The Bulls never seem to do what they are expected to. In the preseason a lot of reports where surfacing that they would keep Holcomb on the roster, and what do they do? End up waiving him, and keeping Powell instead, who also eventually ended up on the waiver wire. Then some reports arose that we where going to bring in Griffin, didn’t happen. Finally yesterday there was an article saying the Bulls would sign James Thomas to a 10 day contract, or another player who had already spent time on the roster (via 10 day contract) earlier in the season. What do they do? Come out of no where with Luke Schenscher. I can’t say I am disappointed though the simple fact he is seven one is a huge upside. I don’t really think we could find any better a player, in terms of size, at this point in the year.
Doesn't really matter who they sign since the player probably won't play unless there is garbage time. But, did you guys see Tim Thomas' debut? 20 mins 20 points with 5 treys.

However, he is inconsistent, talks a bigger game then he plays, and refuses to accept a role unless it is one he feels would fit him best. He worries about himself not the team, and that is what killed him in Chicago. Skiles is not the type of coach who necessarily pats you on the back for what you do well. He is the guy who looks at what you do wrong and tries to force you to improve in that area. Something Thomas refused to do. It was a good game, but I’m still happy he is gone.
He was probably wide open most of the time because of Steve Nash. But, he does seem to be like a guy that you described as Thomas by just looking at him or maybe because he was in Chicago.

It’s pretty sad though because he does not even have a name on the back of his jersey due to just being signed today. He just scored 8:39 left in the second quarter.
This kid fits right in Skiles is giving him good minutes early. He just left the game, but he is a high energy guy, runs the floor, and is not afraid to put his body on the line. If he keeps doing that he will be around for a while.
Lukkeeeeeeee The man is a solid pick up he has played quality minutes, and scored four points despite not practicing with the Bulls at all before today. This makes me wonder how much Skiles dislikes what he is seeing from Sweetney. I mean when a guy who joined the team so late that they couldn't even put his name on the jersey is finding quality minutes why can’t Sweetney a former lottery pick find any.
Hmm... I didn't think he was going to play much especially the first game. But, he did put some solid minutes in, he was doing good. He should have got that charge call.
yer that reminds me why isnt sweetney getting mins? is it coz hes fat? back on the topic, wow this pickup came outta nowhere i dont know what to say.... except we got killed by cavs..sigh...
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Bulls finally added some size to their roster in 7-foot-1-inch Luke Schenscher, who had to learn quickly. He was signed to a 10-day contract Sunday out of the NBA Developmental League for his first NBA stint. "Obviously, they don't have too many true centers, so I think I can slip in and do something," the 23-year-old Australian said. Schenscher started the second quarter and ended up with three fouls in five minutes. He calmed down to score two baskets but unraveled when LeBron James went by him for an easy dunk in the fourth quarter. He played 12 minutes, a significant number for a newcomer. Overall, coach Scott Skiles said Schenscher's defensive instincts were "as good as anybody else's," and liked his touch around the basket. He averaged 8.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.42 blocks for the Ft. Worth Flyers. He played four seasons at Georgia Tech before going undrafted last summer.</div> <div align="center"> Source</div>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting I-Miss-MJ:</div><div class="quote_post">Plus he is an Aussie. Can't beat that.</div> Right on! Well done to Luke, good to see another Aussie in the league. The Bulls must love Australians - Longley played with them for a few years and I beleive Anstey had a stint with them too. Pity the Nuggets didn't keep Schenscher at the start of the year.
