I've been noticing on a lot of mocks that have Gator PF Al Horford in the lottery. He is very talented, talent wise he could be in the lottery, but he is sooooo raw. He is sorta like the Dwight Howard in the college game. Loads of potential, great rebounder, great shot blocker, very raw offensive game. He is also very inconsistent. Being a Gator fan, I really really think that he should stay and improve.(and hope, because him and Noah/Brewer will be one of the better frontcourts in NCAA next year).

    So my questions are
    1) Do you think he could be a lottery pick this year?
    2) Do you think he will leave UF to go to the NBA or stay and improve his game? 3) What would be a good NBA comparison of him?
    4) How effective do you think he could be in the NBA, if he leaves this year?

    1. I think he could easily be a lottery pick especially on the big "P" word. Potential. His size, and the skills he posesses for his size, his handle and his passing, make him a rare breed.

    2. I think if he is a solid Lottery pick, he would concider bolting. Hard to pass up the chance to be a sure fire Lottery choice.

    3. Comparison, I'd have to say a bigger, more athletic Charles Oakley. He can handle for a big guy, and has good vision. His rebounding and defense are far ahead of his offense. However, his bullish ability on the glass allows him to earn a lot of junk baskets.

    4. Effective. Maybe not in year one, however, his talent appears to be the type that, after a year of adapting, could make HUGE strides come year 2.

Thanks man. That's what I was scared of. I think him and Noah could be one of the most dominating frontcourts next year and I really hope he will stay. I think one more year under Billy Donovan will do a whole lot for him. All 4 of our sophs are best friends, so hopefully the other 3 will convince him to stay.

What do you think of Noah's pro chances? He's been our best player by far the last 2-3 weeks. He really needs to bulk up some more but going from not playing at all last year to being our best player, I can't wait to see him improve next year, hopefully he will stay.

Tis kid's improvment is amazing. And you wanna know what actually helped him develope such a badass attitude and that killer instinct. We had him up in Harlem last summer, playing in the EBC. He learned a lot, some more street edge he didnt have growing up like he did. I think he's a lottery pick in '07. His length, his athleticism is insame, and he has a motor that keeps rollin. He does need to bulk up, and if he does. DAMN. I have really grown a liking to this kid. I think if he can get up to around 240, and keep his athleticism, and add some range to his game, it's on next season.

Yeah man, he's really turned it on at the end of the season. He won SEC POTW honors this week with 26 ppg 11 rpg avg. He is pretty much everyone's favorite player in Gville, because he gets the crowd into it. He is one of the funnest players to watch because he gets so pumped up over everything.
