MRI revealed a partial tear in his left plantar fascia. Bad news, but at least it'll mean more court time for Wilcox and possibly a few extra backup minutes for the two young centres.
Makes the Felix signing a smart one then. Obviously a lot of minutes will go to Wilcox now, but I'd also like to see Swift and Petro together on the floor for periods.

Hopefully he makes a 100% recovery - I still think he's an important piece, I happen to think he's a solid backup 4/5 and plays a lot in the 4th quarter, kinda like last year. From a personal standpoint, at least he can spend some time with his newborn
Kind of makes Bob Hill's job a little easier now. I was wondering how we would be able to rotate our bigs with four people being really deserving of minutes. W/ Collison out there are now at least 24 extra minutes available to Swift, Petro, and Wilcox. This is going to really help Wilcox put up some good numbers and will allow for us to see if Petro is capable of playing along side Swift for some stretches. Obviously Sund didn't have the foresight to know that Felix could help lessen the blow of Collison being out but I know that he is more than happy with the fact that he can steal some minutes as a reserve. Under any other circumstance I'd be very disappointed to hear this news but I think we all know what we are getting out of Nick, and there is still a lot of intrigue about the potential of Swift, Petro, and Wilcox. Should be very interesting how these minutes are distributed.
