<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"><font size="2">Atlanta -- If the Warriors "do or die" road trip becomes an issue of burial or cremation, don't bother looking for a fall guy. </font> <font size="2">While the disappointment of missing the playoffs for a 12th straight year would be understandable, laying blame and pointing fingers would be "shallow" and "weak," vice president Chris Mullin said. </font> <font size="2">In Mullin's view, the Warriors still have 23 chances to figure out how to win close games, hit clutch free throws and grab key rebounds. Twenty-three games for their individual talents to get on the same page, or better yet, reach the same level that Jason Richardson is playing at. </font> <font size="2">A lot can happen in 23 games. And if it doesn't ... </font> <font size="2">"If need be a fall guy, that would be me," Mullin said this past week, "And that's the God's honest truth. Because everyone here was brought here by me. So if (there needs to) be a fall guy? Right here. Unequivocally. No doubt about it, no looking around. </font> <font size="2">"And that's the way it should be." </font> <font size="2">Mullin isn't giving up on the 25-34 season and he isn't getting ready to resign his post. He is giving Golden State time to get better before he makes changes. </font> <font size="2">It's just that as time goes by, a Warriors' roster that should be rounding into form is actually creating more questions. </font> <font size="2">As in, which players should even be on the court together? </font> </div> Now that's a G.M. talking. Not a fiscally responsible G.M., but maybe he learned his lesson. Mullin also insists on keeping Pietrus (hopefully, for the right price). I dunno we need a guard that can shoot, defend, pass and handle the ball that is not named Derek Fisher. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...SPGM3HJTM21.DTL
<font size="2"><div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Still, "when you're trying to make a stretch run and you're juggling the lineup due to the fact of people not producing, it's shouldn't be like that at this point," said Davis, who realized Montgomery doesn't have a choice. "We should have a certain lineup and a certain rotation that we go about things."</div> Baron is even settling down now that he's got time to watch the game happening. It ain't the strategy of playing slow, it's guys not getting it done. Besides, the Warriors have to learn various ways to play or they will get blown out by guys that run better than them or play better D to slow their transition game down. The more weapons you have and more ways you can play/defend, you set the tone and that wins the game. Right now the coaching staff doesn't have enough tools to make those adjustments. </font>
I think the Warriors should go with: Baron JRich Dunleavy Ike Biedrins With Murphy, Pietrus, Montay, Foyle, and Fisher playing the majority of the Bench Minutes in that order. I realize that Fisher's going to get his time (unfortunately) but I honestly believe that giving the Majority of time to the 9-men in front of him is the best scenario. I know it will never happen, but this is a solid two-teams. In case of foul trouble you can always bring in Zarko at the 3 or 4. It just seems to me that being able to pound a bit at the beginning of the game and bringing in energy guys and scorers off the bench (Foyle plays with a spark off the bench) is the best formula. Remember how well Pietrus was playing in his 7th man role earlier in the year? Too bad salaries dictate playing time.
If we dont make the playoffs, and he is the one to blame, does that mean he will not fire anyone before he fires himself? If he fires Monty, that basically means it was Monty's fault, but he takes the blame for hiring Monty.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting vcwannabe15:</div><div class="quote_post">They should make the lineup like this: PG:Baron SG:J-Rich SFietrius PF:Ike C:Murphy</div> no way..they will attack murphy down low and we already are having rebounding problems. That lineup with make it even worse. i like what cohanhater said with Baron JRich Dunleavy Ike Biedrins We have size, two ball handlers, shooters and good help defense down low with ike and biendrins
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AnimeFANatic:</div><div class="quote_post">He's almost 7', and I think he still might be growing.</div> It was actually reported over the summer that he grew to a legit 7 ft, maybe just a little taller. If you compare him standing up next to some other bigs he looks like hes 7 feet.
Ask yourself this: Why did Chris Mullin decide to have Cohan call him the "Vice President of Basketball Operations" and then let him go out and hire someone (Rod Higgins who basically doesn't even exist as far as fans are concerned) to fill the label of GM? Hmm.... "Vice President".....
I guess this is a good example of stating the obvious. Also, it means Mullin still has at least one more year to solve this mess he created, because a desperate man probably can't make that kind of statement. Yes. A lot can happen. But, even if we go 22-0, it will put us to 47-35 mark, probably good for 6 or 7th seed...
I gotta say... I respect Mullin. Ultimately a good executive will take the blame; but you know the saying. Sh1t rolls down hill. Look out below!

Even if we could give Foyle the boot we have to find somebody better to replace Foyle or somebody that can bail out Biedrins. Biedrins is still going to be foul prone as long as poor perimeter D exists and he's getting outmuscled for position in the post.
