Sorry, Pierce is my man. That game was great. By the way... Ryan Gomes - 27 points, 9 boards, 5 assists
a ridiculous game for gomes too. y'know with all this great young talent to build around the celtics may well decide not to offer Pierce enough money/years to stay. i suppose they might. You can tell ainge HAS to be thinking about it. But man oh man, will it be a sad day if/when he leaves or WHAT?!
i think they should keep paul, what a player to build a team round! He would be a great role model, with playoff experience, plus he will able to put up the points when needed too. I also wouldn't understand if paul would want to leave to go too a playoff team, that would be just plain out stupidity,.

Pierce can't leave to GO to a playoff team, because if he keeps playing like this, he's already on one. You find a team in the East that wants to play a healthy Celtics team in the first round. Coaches all over are looking for ways to stop Pierce...and they aren't going to find any at all.
Something tells me Detroit wont piss their pants and run hom crying if they get paired up with the celtics in the 1st round
I love this guy...I hope he retires as a Celtics, I have said it since the start, he is the heart of this team...and, I am really liking what I see since the trade...Danny knows exactly wat he is doing...
the thing i cant understand is how come he hasn't won any awards for his brilliant form. He didnt get playa of the month, after averaging the most points out of anyone in feb! i think he deserves a little bit more receginition.
That show was amazing. Pierce is the truth, I was soooooooo happy when that shot went in, if felt as if someone the Sixers made it. Thanks Pierce, you did me a favor.

Great shot by PP... but now, he better not be making them tonight.
that shot basically guaranteed (i hope) pierce to stay in boston for another 2-3 years What a great player and a clutch player that been said...gomes is starting to ermege as the 2nd most important player outside of pierce (delonte is injured at this moment...therefore i didn't count him in...otherwise he's 2nd most important player on the team) Wally has been inconsistent with his shots i think...he probably won't be fully effective until next year once he learned the plays, provided that Rivers is still the coach next year, perkins+al will be another year older and one more year of experience under their bags...add Delonte to the list...WOW
curious question though despite pierce been so good and basically the icon player in the recent celtics era, why is he ALWAYS on the rumour mill???
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">despite pierce been so good and basically the icon player in the recent celtics era, why is he ALWAYS on the rumour mill???</div> Yea? is it that? does he want 2 leave? Or people dont have better things 2 talk about?
inswinger: me have no idea me not from boston that's why i asked the question out of pure curiousity hoping for a good answer
Basic Answer <div class="quote_poster">Quoting hohoyoyoyo:</div><div class="quote_post">curious question though despite pierce been so good and basically the icon player in the recent celtics era, why is he ALWAYS on the rumour mill???</div> Part of the reason that Pierce is always on the trading block is because he's so good. He's that good and the team continued to be mediocre (note the past-tense). So the feeling was that the team should go to full rebuilding mode. Pierce is just old enough that the media could make it logical for him to be traded away for the sake of a rebuilding effort that would focus on highly drafted young players. The other chip in play is Pierce's contract. Because that contract is so large, it would seem to contradict the attempted rebuilding effort. In short, Pierce was viewed as a sort of luxury. Ainge has proven that he can rebuild without gutting the team, so these trade talks are probably going away until the summer. When summer comes around, Pierce's contract again becomes an issue, because it runs out after next season. Re-signing him will be costly, especially if he's the best player in the league at the time. Anyway, that's my answer to the basic question. And no, I don't think that they should let him get away. PS-I'm also ignoring any and all perceived racial issues. Boston is harped on for its racism. I don't believe that it's playing such a huge part in the Pierce rumors. Boston media almost creates a bias against itself...go figure.
