I also get annoyed by people who suggest that Yao's last two years were a disappointment. As if, after his rookie year, Yao was suddenly supposed to be a 25/10 player. He's shown steady progression at the rate that most post players follow, and I think he's finally putting it all together.

Yao will be the greatest in the future. Shaq is the greatest now, and until he retires, he's the best hands down. If I need to win a game today it's Shaq I'm callin up not Yao, however, if I wanted the best for my franchise's future then Yao would be my huckleberry.

As long as Duncan and Gasol are playing Center in the League, I can't vote for Ming. The former two are both 7 footers widely regarded as "Power Forwards," but both fit the description of the Center position and both play it. Granted Gasol plays more forward when Jake I. from Greece is playing well.

I don't agree with Gasol being better than Yao, I'd take Yao at C for my team over Gasol any day. Just to add, today: 36 points, 11 rebounds, 15 FTA, 12-16 FGA, still 3 minutes left in the game. It seems like people are having a hard time accepting that Shaq is getting old and is not the best anymore. Everyone accepted that Nash passed Kidd, but don't want to accept this, it always happens, you can't be the best forever.
