Keys To The Game

Concentration, Execution - What more can I say after yesterday's loss? Everybody knows what I'm talking about. Leading by 7 with 2 minutes left and lose by 3 yesterday. Same with the Pacers game. How do you do that?

Get Back On D - The Nuggets lead the league in fast break points. In the past few games, every single team has been able to inbound the ball and somebody go straght for a layup or dunk.(Arenas and Alston numerous times). Our defense is just terrible and horrendous. The Nuggets will easily blow us out if that happens.

Team Unity - You really have to question this team's unity now. Winning 5 out of 6 and then lose two heartbreakers. John Salmons took 3 possessions and turned over twice and missed one shot pretty much without anybody else touching the ball.

There is still hope in this season as we are still only 2 games behind the Nets.
However, in order for us to go ANYWHERE, the Sixers will have to play better in the 47th and 48th minutes of the games. The Nuggets have won 7 out of 10 and this looks very much like their playoff surges from the last two years.

    Prediction:

Nuggets over Sixers by over 10

Sweet preview. I think all of us are really dissapointed after last night's loss. That's the worst way to lose, and unfortunately we tend to lose like that often.

I'm pumped for tonight. I have tickets 12 rows from the floor, something that hasn't happened since 2002 when I got close at a pre-season game against the Jazz (not such a great game lol).

Last time, remember, we were close with Denver back on our road trip. We won with that game winning jumper Iverson drilled over Andre Miller. I think that it will be a close one, but I pray we don't fall under .500 again. It's too close to the end of the season to start losing again.

Both of my favorite teams playing against each other on national TV, so hopefully it will be a good game. I'll be going for the 76ers because they are my first team, and they need a win more than the Nuggets do right now.

It ironic how after the Indiana game Mo worked on "clutch" situations in practice, and then the 76ers come back and completely melt down in the last few minutes of the game. The fourth quarter needs to be dominated by AI, and Chris Webber. They should not be used as decoys or something. I know AI had an opportunity to make a shot near the end, but he didn't dominate the ball enough. He has got to create something in the fourth quarter when the games are close, it doesn't have to be scoring but he has to move the ball and make sure the ball is moved. Thats part of being a leader, C-Webb, AI step it up!

    We lose... again.

By the way, "too late in the season to start losing again" ... what do you mean start? We started losing again a while ago...

lol at big mo. your pretty low on this team arent you. lol. anyways, almost the end of the 2nd, sixers lead by 9, and AI is once again his usual self. i think the sixers should hold on and win this one, but why too many times they have shown they can give up big leads, so im not that confident, especially since it isnt even the fourth........

Philly is choking down the stretch. I thought they had the game in the bag, but Denver is making a run and have tied the game.

Nothing new though... the Sixers always stop doing what gets them the lead, and collapse down the stretch. Their role players feel they should be taking the shots down the stretch (especially Salmons) instead of letting AI take the shots or atleast run the offense and create shots for the rest of the guys. John Salmons is the biggest ballhog on the team. People call AI out for "hogging" the ball, but this cat doesn't even pass the ball 70% of the time when he touches it!

And philA... yes, I'm pretty low on this team, because they haven't shown me anything. They can't even do the basic things a team needs to do in order to win games. Now, I wouldn't be upset right now if they could improve, but they are the same team right now that they were to begin the season.

I'm just amazed the 76ers don't run more plays for Iggy. He's far too, talented to only have 3 shot attempts in 30 minutes on the court. Right now he's like the 7th option on the team, when he should be #3 after AI and CWebb.

You know, I really liked Salmons before, but ever since this year, I just hate the guy. It seems he's just showboating other there to make a splash in the free agent market- thats why he takes the shot like 70% of the time he gets the ball. We'll see how this game ends up, tied right now 93-93.

Another game, another choke for the 76ers. And once again, ANOTHER game winner for Carmelo.

That is what the entire city of Philadelphia, and all Sixers fans are wondering!

I mean, they made a consistent effort to get him more involved in the first few games after the All-Star Weekend, but ever since then it has gone back to the way it was in the beginning of the year.

Another late game collapse... another loss. No surprise there.

I'm still laughing at everybody who thought this team turned it around after the ASB! [IMG]

This team is the defintion of mediocre.

I don't understand the coaching decisions of the 76ers. They were doing some damage with Dalembert on the floor, filling the lane when Iverson drove in. He was getting dunk after dunk after dunk, but then did nothing the rest of the way.

Kyle Korver needs to be benched if his jumper isn't falling. Mo Cheeks needs a short leash with him, because Korver is terrible on defense. Ruben Patterson did what ever he wanted inside the paint.

Korver taking the winning 3? I don't think so. He went 1-12 from downtown tonight...

I got more out of the game by being close to the court and here's what I thought...the only players who were playing their hearts out were Iverson, Barnes and Hunter. Don't refer to the box score. Hunter was rebounding much better and had atleast 3 big put backs in the second quarter to keep the lead alive. Webber is garbage. He needs to check the roster and look up his position.

***Also...why isn't Dalembert playing? Has his time been limited because of an injury or something? He did while out there...Mo Cheeks makes me think, and now I am questioning his decisions...why? Oh maybe because there's only 20 or so games left in the season.

Man, that graphic they showed of all our blown leads and collapses really was startling... I mean, dang, there were soooo many more than that!

    It just makes you think...

Props to Barnes and Hunter. Those dudes were great out there tonight. If we get play like that from them every night, our bench would be a lot better.

Not like it matters though... because we'd still blow the lead! I wouldn't feel safe with a 50 point lead with 1 minute left in the game...

Went to the game last night - Mo is making some horrible coaching decisions. He tries to coach against the other teams strengths by playing small ball, but fails to use our advantage. Sammy can run the court with our small guys and gives us a presence inside that is essential to Iverson. Hunter played well as well and also could have been in the game the last 8 minutes. When Webber is our lone big man on the court we have absolutely no presence inside and Iverson has no one to dish it off to when he drives and doesn't have a shot(which was the case with demarr johnson covering him late in the game). I was completely shocked and appalled watching the last quarter of the game as was the majority of fans in my section.
