The Spurs didn't have a dog fight like I was hoping for last night against the Suns. However, this will be the fifth game in six days for the Spurs and they have to be tired after all the traveling.

The Lakers are well rested and have had the extra days to prepare for this matchup. The Lakers lost to the Spurs at home, a couple of days ago. Manu Ginobili and Michael Finley were lights out from behind the arc and led the way for a seven point victory.

The Lakers are coming off an emotional win in New Orleans. They will try to take this momentum into San Antonio to steal a win. Lamar Odom is going to be the key tonight. He addressed his teammates after the loss to the Spurs and told them to give him more touches in the post because he will deliver. He's not going to allow Finley or Gino to get the best of him tonight.

Kobe's four straight games of 40, could extend to five tonight against the Spurs. If the Lakers role players are struggling to score, expect Kobe to take the reigns again. He went crazy in the last meeting from behind the arc near the end of the game hitting 3point shot after 3point shot.

    Post comments here. Go Lakers!

I hope Bruce Bowen plays good defense today. He should start so we can stop Kobe fast before he gets hot and we can't stop him. I agree with you that the Spurs will be tired but they are the Spurs and will definately put up a fight as they always do. I can't wait for this game. I expect it to be a good one.

This is going to be a war. Lakers haven't beat spurs since Shaq's departure. I think Lakers wont allow the Spurs to shoot that high of a percentage this time around.

I see a dominant double digit victory for the Spurs on the horizon.

    Go Memphis! [IMG]

Historically the Lakers have played well when it's a players birthday. Sasha celebrated his birthday against New Orleans and had one of his best games of the season. Tonight is Kwame's birthday, expect big things from him.

People have been saying to expect big things from Kwame since he came into the NBA and he hasn't done anything yet. I willl just have to wait and see.

He's had some flashes, especially in Washington when he went for 30 points and 19 rebounds against the Kings.

His position defense has been solid this season, but consistency elludes Kwame. Hopefully he has a career game against the Spurs frontline tonight. I'll be happy with a double-digit rebounding effort.

Solid prediction. How many people think Bruce Bowen can hold Kobe under 20 points. I mean when Bowen is guarding him (which will probably be when he is in), not the whole game.

I like the positive thinking, keep it coming Laker fans!

The Lakers need to do a better job of defending Tony Parker. He's been a terror all season, so the Lakers need create a wall to prevent him from getting to the rim for high percentage shots. Force him to give up the ball and make the Spurs beat us from the perimeter again. Smush Parker cannot gamble on defense. He should force Parker to the left and into the strength of the defense.

Boxing out and controlling the glass is another area the Lakers need to win. Everyone needs to help out on the rebounds and rotate down low when Parker penetrates. If Parker gives up the penetration he should cherry pick on the other end and try to score easy transition buckets.

Lamar Odom has to bring his A game tonight. Last game he only took 8 shots, he needs to put pressure on the Spurs frontline and force the Spurs to double team him.

in order for to win, a lot of things must happen. kobe must be hot early on, kwame must continue to play tough defense, smush has to stop giving up the ball, the team must rebound, and odom must be a factor on the offensive side of the ball. for some reason, i have a gut feeling that the lakers will win, but it will be a dog fight to the end. lets go lakers
