610AM just reported that McGrady is out for 5 weeks due to the fall he had a few games back that messed up his back. Apparently, it's not related to the chronic back spasms he was dealing with throughout the season. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports...kn/3715925.html
If he is it will help develop the young players since JVG has given up on the season. Now what are they thinkin about fitch when they coulda developed him in the NBA, just shows u they dont know what there doing.
he should be, rest him up for the season, let him heal over the summer next year he drops 30 ppg, yao gets 25 ppg
Rockets are 3-0 without T-mac after all-star break, I think they could do it as long as they play together.
Wow, this will hit us hard. Even though Bogans has played exceptionally since being acquired, there's an obvious talent drop-off. Maybe this will help Yao continue his hot streak, but it would also mean defenses can just collapse on him. Either way, I guess the playoffs is out of the question.

Maybe the Los Angeles back specialists/doctor that examined TMac is an avid Laker fan so he ruled him out for 5 weeks so the Rockets can't catch the Lakers. (Just Joking!) Too bad for the Rockets and all of us fans out there. Just when it seems we're almost close to gaining the .500 mark and possibly a playoff spot, now were going back to the same situation for the 2nd time this season. Remember last December when we're already 9-12 just 3 games below .500 and we're on a hot streak when suddenly Yao and Anderson went down. Although the Lakers were on a winning streak while the Hornets are on a losing one, the 7th and 8th seed, even the sixth seed(with the Grizzlies chances of breaking down) are still up for grabs. Anyway who knows the Rockets can come back without TMAc. A 16-4 record on the last 20 games would be enough to bring the Rockets to the playoffs. Enhanced team chemistry, consistency, confidence and mental toughness is what they need. It's time for Yao to lead the the team. If they continue to play like the last two games a miracle comeback would be on the horizon.
R.I.P. Rockets 2006 Playoff Hopes Good luck next season. Wow, and if you told any NBA fan last year that the Rockets would not be in the playoffs next season they would have slapped you harder than Rick James.
This is good and bad Bad: because we lose yao for like 8-9 weeks. Our record goes bad. How many games have yao and t-mac played toghether. t-mac gets injured, yao plays, tmac comes back, yao gets injured!.. Good: It will create yao more shots, and yao will be more effective if he keeps his dominance up. If yao keeps on getting 30+ and 10+.. we can win a lotta games... Yao is now the leader.. it is upto him to lead us to the playoffs.
I'm kinda hoping we don't make the playoffs now, I mean I'd rather see tmac get proper rest for his back, rather than him to rush back and risk injuring it again.......good luck for the '06-'07 season (God, it really hurts me to say that!!!!)
