<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Orlando, Fla. -- Coach Mike Brown stated the obvious 10 minutes after the Cavaliers' latest blowout loss.

"We got our butts beat," Brown said. "Simple as that."

This beating was especially painful because it didn't come against one of the better teams like the Detroit Pistons or the Miami Heat. It was against an Or lando Magic squad on a six-game losing streak and losers of 14 of their past 15 games.

Orlando snapped its streak thanks to the Cavs' sleepwalking effort that led to a humbling 102-73 loss at the TD Waterhouse Centre.

The defeat snapped the Cavs' four-game winning streak, and the Pacers' (31-28) victory over the Hornets means Indiana is three games behind the Cavs (36-27) as the fourth-seed in next month's playoffs.

LeBron James was questionable before the game because of flulike symptoms that kept him out of the morning shootaround. James managed to play and lead the Cavs with 25 points, but not even his gutsy effort could produce a victory.

James said his illness had nothing to do with the Cavs' lethargic play.

"It was one of those efforts that you have sometimes," James said. "We didn't come with the effort to win a basketball game and that's what happens."

Remember last year, when the Cavs fell flat and out of the playoffs in the second half of the season? That isn't likely to happen again, but playing at a consistent level leading into the postseason is important.

"These are very important games for us," said Cavs forward Donyell Marshall. </div>

Eh...knew this loss was coming when I saw that LeBron had the flu. Flip Murray continues to impress with 13 points. Gooden had 9 points and 12 boards.

I don't think we're going to flop and miss the playoffs like we did last year, but if we want to do anything in the playoffs, we have to beat teams like the Magic...someone like the Pacers will kill us in the first round...

Flip was impressive with his defense, but for him to get the praise that he has gotten as a Cav he needs to put up more than 13 points--and he needs to take it to the basket more instead of settling for open shots.

But if he plays with the defensive intensity that I saw from him on Friday he should be able to get out of his offensive slump.

You knew the loss was coming because Lebron had the flu? Against one of the worst teams in the league? Some faith you have in your team

    disappointing

the coach says "we got our butts whipped. simple as that"
then LeBron says "sometimes the efforts not there", like that is acceptable.
this is what losers say. lebron gives too many excuses all the time. does this guy even want to win a championship? cause i don't get that feeling from him based on the way he acts and the things he says. or is he just happy being a really talented rich icon? these guys are going to get swept by miami or detroit and with arenas playing out of his mind the wizards would beat the cavs too unless lebron gets his head straight. how many pathetic losses have the cavs suffered this year, just blowouts? for a team that is 36-27 this is a vulnerable team. sorry cavs fans but you deserve better

I'm just being honest. We are so out of sync right now, it's not even funny. We've got too many players who just want to jack up shot after shot(Damon Jones, Donyell Marshall).

Sorry, but I am not going to be a homer and act like everything is alright.
