that's bogus what more could frank have gotten out of this squad? look when two of your 3 frontcourt STARTERS are jason collins and nenad kristic, and you have basically no bench, you're not going to compete with the pistons or the heat, i mean let's be real here. If anyone's job should be in jeopardy, i say terry stotts in Milwaukee, cause they have got some quality bigs in magloire, joe smith, bogut, as well as a great pg and 2 great scorers in redd and simmons and they are UNDER 500! I feel if Larry Frank had the Bucks they would be dominating teams.
^^^ I agree. No one should take Vescey seriously. I think that he has been learning too much from Charles Barkley.
Charles is atleast funny, along with a very decorated career. You're not supposed to take him seriously, you're supposed to laugh at him. He laughs at himself too. Vescey is a just a joke overall and he doesn't realize it. He's just a pretentious idiot.
If Coach Franks was able to hang on to his job after the way we played early this season then Iam pretty sure that he is safe in terms of Ed and Rod believing in his ablity to coach this team. I think Rod Thorn knows that he has struggle the last past two offseasons to give Lawerence Franks the type of role players needed to surround the big three to make it able for Franks to Coach at his highest level. Franks is working without a dominate bigman and no bench what so ever, Its only so much he can do. The only complain I might have with Coach Franks is he has to find away to get more out of these guys on the road. This is a veteran club they shouldnt struggle the way they do away from home, but I guess that kind of figures in with poor role players, hard to beat a team in their building and you only have 3 or 4 productive guys that night. So Coach Franks is off the hook in my opinion until the front office surrounds him with some quality players besides Kidd/Jeff/Vince.... Nenad and JC together only combines to make up one qualty bigman imo, because Nenad can score but cant guard anybody, and JC can guard but cant throw the ball in the ocean 90%, so they make up only one player together. And then you have a 40 year old Cliff Robinson, eveybody else is trash and have been extremely dissappointing especially Murray, Padgett and Marc Jackson(even tho he is gone) & Jeff McInnis(even tho he has been injured since forever). Those are all the moves Thorn made this past offseason, so us being inconsist and somewhat medicore has to fall on his shoulders a bit. Anyway, hopefully we can put together a strong run these last few weeks and go into the playoffs with some momentum, we should be running away with this division, honestly.
Rod Thorn responds to rumors <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">A report in the New York Post that suggested Lawrence Frank was under greater scrutiny by management for the way he has used the bench that Rod Thorn assembled. Thorn dismissed it immediately. "I think our coach does a terrific job," he said. "I think he has done a terrific job since we got him. I don't have any problems at all with our coach. He's definitely not in trouble. We're not getting rid of our coach." "From time to time, I might disagree with things that go on, but that's why he's the coach and I'm not," Thorn said. "I don't ever enter into the coach's part of it, because I think he does a great job and if there's anything on my mind I'll say it to him or he'll say it to me. We have a great relationship. I like him and I think he does a terrific job." -</div> Source
For all it's worth, every coach's job in the NBA is in danger. Except maybe Sloan's. But I do agree with you guys. He has done the best possible from his team. He's saying that he doesn't like what he's doing with the bench? I say what bench? Even Thorn agrees that he's doing a great job.
well playing devil's advocate for a second, I doubt Rod would go out there and confirm reports about Frank's job. It wouldn't be a good move if they plan to axe him at the end of the season. They need Frank to stay focussed and do his best without worrying about job security.
