I'd hafta say the lowest IQ owned by someone (sorry, this guy isnt a player. he might have been, im not sure) is ROB BABCOCK. he's the stupidest *beep* ever

Wow. I can not beleive, especially on a board with, well, what I thought, was some people very knowledgable about basketball, that I just read, Tim Duncan mock's Kevin Garnett. A man who has just as many MVP's as KG, and, last time I checked, 3 more titles than KG, somehow wishes he was KG? I love Garnett, LOVE him, and I'm not a Duncan fan, personally, however, the Master Glasser is simply one of the best players today, yesterday, and when all said and done, will be, of all time. That just really baffles the hell out of me.

how does Duncan mock KG? KG may be the most gifted big man we've seen in a while but c'mon Timmy's IQ makes up for everything KG has on him. Duncan is a smart player who knows how to play the game.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jerry West:</div><div class="quote_post">What did the Rockets see in him? We stuffed up by drafting him (although everyone thought he was a stand out), but even we realised he was a stiff long ago, yet Houston still handed over plenty of coin and talked him up as the missing piece of a triangle that would take Houston to glory this year. Instead he's struggling for court time behind Juwan Howard and Chuck Hayes.</div> Potential, Rockets saw potential in No-Show-Stro, he is gonna be a good player later in his career.

KG NO ONE( a potential better player Davis) but not anytime KG is going to be in the NBA TD Manu and Tony and Horry and Bowen lets leave it at that
Brevin Knight has a great BBall IQ, to bad he isnt with a team that can go very far. The lowest is without a doubt Kwame Brown.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Chutney:</div><div class="quote_post">So Duncan's mocking KG by being surrounded by a better team? I didn't know he was the Spurs GM.</div> NO hes more successful than KG isnt he just because he has a better team. KG doesnt have teamates that are going to help him not naytime soon.. and maybe mock was the wrong word its just that I like KG so much and his game that I Hate TD and the way he plays and the way he is more successful than KG

The potential is still there, but Swift has shown that he doesn't have the work ethic to exploit it.
Duncan and Nash would probably win the IQ race right now. I gotta say Stockton (aka Pasty) would earn a seat in the all time category along with Jordan, Magic and those guys. I don't know where the whole "Duncan has no talent" thing got started. He's not as atheletic as, say, KG but to me smarts are pretty darn close to being a talent (if they aren't indeed a talent). I guess seeing talent is a talent in and of itself.
Don't overlook Chris Paul. The young man makes few bad decisions and knows the game; a natural. IQ is ability to adapt to circumstances presented and to create a way to overcome one's obstacles and opponents. It's more than talent, it's more than confidence, it's learning fast, recognizing patterns and tendencies and taking advantage.
Kidd's awareness on the defensive end is just as impressive as on the offensive. He reads lanes well, and he also has a knack for knowing where the ball is going to come off the rim. He also can tell when the opposition is slacking on offensive, and he'll take full advantage. Nash amazes me still. He doesn't possess strength or speed, which usually are very important to have nowadays, but he still finds ways to weave through the defense and get into the paint for a nice layup or dish. He always knows when and where to pass in the halfcourt set.
With respect to Tim Duncan. He is a smart, good-humored well-educated man. But that is not why he has a high basketball IQ. I believe he lets the game come to him, taking what the other players on the court create in terms of opportunity to make passes and shots. Of course he's not a highlight film star, but he see's what is happening, what the other players opposing his team are trying to do, and communicates well with his teammates and coaches during the game. Add to this a hard nose for rebounding and astounding natural strength and hands the size of a first baseman's glove, and a 20 point, 12 rebound night with 3 assists, a couple of steals, and several altered shots and a block or two are what he usually contributes. If the team needs 30 points, he can take 10 more shots. But the Spurs don't need someone like Kobe to win every night. So, yes, I agree TD has the Bball IQ and is in the top 5%.
