http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-xsUYEnFSc...rch=allan%20ray this is the clearest one there is, there are a whole bunch of them on that website
I'm pretty sure his eye did pop out. I turned the game on just after it happened but my friend was watching it live and said the in the live broadcast he saw Ray's eye out of his head. Also, on ESPN that night the Sportscenter guy said that they wouldnt show all of the footage because his eye was out of his head and it was "a little gruesome". I would also imagine it would be very difficult to hoax something like that in such a short time, I saw that video the morning after the thing happened.

So it didn't cause any permanent damage? Thats some dangerous stuff right there. It almost looked like his eye had disconnected in that clip.
That's a pretty nasty clip. I hope he is alright. Been watching him since he was a junior in HS and always liked his game.

There was no damage to the eye itself. he can return to non contact practice and will be cleared by Friday when Villanova plays. His eyelid was pushed behind his eye, which made it appear to come out. However, there was no scratch or cornea issues, and was labeled as being no worse than if he was punched during a fight.
damn! that was sick! especially the close up. i remember when i first saw that nova game. i turned it on and it just showed a replay of what happened. i didnt know what it really was since i just tuned in. i thought he got smacked in the head, but then i noticed that his eye was a little bulging out, and i though. no. hell no. that cant happen. then i see this vid with his eye out his socket. i think im gonna barf
Ray played pretty good today but early on a guy packed him and the ball came back and hit him in the head and you could hear the whole crowd gasp but he was ok
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting J_Ray:</div><div class="quote_post">I believe the finger went into the eye socket then he pulled his hand back </div> Thank you Dr. J_Ray for that insightful comment. Honestly it looks like it had no effect on his game, 19 points in a win. Not bad, I'd still be in the hospital in a state of shock.
