Kings 85 Mavs 80 Grades: Mavs Fall?No Call of Course!

The icing on the cake was the no call for Jason Terry as Bonzi Wells knocked him to the floor on a potential game tying trey. Jason missed the trey, but the refs shouldn?t have missed the contact which was played over and over on the jumbo screen. Yes, the schedule is not an excuse and of course all teams have to deal with injuries. The Mavs were just lucky tonight that the mauling Dirk, Jason, Marquis and Jerry took didn?t put them on the bench in dress clothes. The Mavs were still missing four of their rotation players and dearly missed Devin?s ability to drive the paint, nevertheless, the Mavs were in this game with 8 seconds left.

UPN 21 : A++; UPN needs to give their camera men a raise! +36

Johnson / Harris: C+, Avery got tired of the no-calls and decided to leave the game after Dirk got mauled. Avery probably hoped that it would spark the Mavs. It may have but Dallas couldn?t overcome the King?s sixth man.

Howard: C; Josh gave it a shot tonight after being out with a strained hamstring, but clearly wasn?t ready to go and went to the locker room after 12 minutes. -4

Nowitzki: B; The good news is that Dirk didn?t get hurt, of course that was probably just luck. Dirk had a double-double tonight with 24 points and 13 rebounds to go with 5 assists and a blocked shot. Zero turnovers. +28

Diop: B; DeSagana rebounded from a terrible game in Utah to have one of his better games with 7 rebounds and 5 blocked shots. +13

Daniels: B; Marquis got the start tonight while Adrian Griffin got the DNP-CD. Marquis did have one of his better games with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists.

Terry: B-; Jason really struggled with his shot tonight, but got it going in the fourth period. Jason scored 14 points (5-15 FG, 2-9 treys, 2-3 FT) to go with 5 assists and 2 steals against Zero turnovers. +11

Stackhouse: C; Jerry struggled with his shot tonight as well and received the same no-calls as Jason. Jerry was visibly irritated after getting knocked to the floor as he drove the lane only to pick up a touch foul on the other end against Ron Artest. +1

Dampier: B; Erick brought the hustle tonight as Damp grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 3 shots. +14

Armstrong : C; Darrell again got 12 minutes tonight with Devin hurt on his way to 1 assist, 1 foul and a missed shot. Zero turnovers. +0

Powell: C+, Josh earned 11 minutes of floor time tonight with 3 rebounds and 3 points. Zero turnovers.

    M?Benga: DNP-CD.

    Marshall : DNP-CD.

Griffin: DNP-CD, Adrian is out with a strained right hamstring.

Harris: DNP-CD, Inactive. Devin is out with a sore quadriceps.

Van Horn: DNP-CD, Inactive. Keith will be out with a strained MCL for at least 2 weeks sustained when Darrell Armstrong was pushed into him in the Bobcat game.

Podkolzin: DNP-CD, Inactive. Pavel has been sent to the Fort Worth Flyers for playing time.

I believe the saying goes ,"What goes around, comes around." Remember last year when Mobley took it to the hoop for a bucket that would have sealed the game but Dampier goaltended and it wasnt called ...which cost the Kings the game at arco!?!? Yeahhhh....
