<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Elton Brand heard it from the seats of the United Center on Friday. He hears it on the street whenever he?s in Chicago.

Bulls fans are still regretting the trade that sent him to the Los Angeles Clippers on draft night of 2001.

It wasn?t always easy listening to the chatter during the Clippers? 107-96 victory, though. Because Tyson Chandler, the player the Bulls got in return, was usually standing nearby.

?It?s kind of awkward hearing about it,? Brand said following the game. ?I wish (Chandler) the best. It?s not his fault at all. He?s a young kid wanting to get drafted. I really want him to kind of excel. I don?t want him to be better than me, but I want him to do well.?

Chandler is only 23, so it?s far too early to make any judgment on his career. But no one could be blamed for missing Brand, especially this year when he?s averaging a career-high 25.7 points, along with 10.1 rebounds.

?The fans, they?re funny out there sometimes,? Brand said. ?We were laughing a little bit. I hear it a lot. I look at it as a sign of respect. It?s good to know that they know I didn?t want out or ask to be traded. It just happened like that.?

Chandler took the comments from fans in stride.

?I can?t worry about that,? he said. ?Honestly, I could care less. There?s nothing you can say about that.?

The Bulls made Brand the top pick of the 1999 draft. He averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds in each of his first two seasons before being traded. Now he?s looking forward to his first trip to the playoffs.

?That?s what it?s about,? Brand said. ?Veteran players like Sam Cassell and Cuttino Mobley, that?s all they talk about. The second half of the season, let?s get geared up, let?s get ready. That?s what our focus is.?</div>

Why would you trade a young guy you just got with the #1 pick that averaged 20 and 10 for a lottery pick lower than #1 which he was drafted? I was young at that time and didn't really pay that much attention to the trades?

I was living in Miami back then so I didn't really care about the Bulls back then but I moved to Illinois 2 years ago and I now wish the Bull had Elton Brand instead of the worthless Tyson Chandler. We could have had Pau Gasol instead! Oh well we will just draft Lamarcus Alldridge.

Although, I would much rather have Elton Brand back because he can score and play defense, Tyson is far from useless. He is well on his way to becoming one of the best shot blockers in the league, and is a great rebounder. His offensive game is horrible, but that is not something we are looking for from him. We have Gordon, Hinrich, Deng, Duhon, and Nocioni to score the ball. At the beginning of the season he struggled because he thought the organization wanted him to becoming a offensive threat. However, after the all star game he settled back into his comfort zone and has been playing great. He has been a 10 and 12 guy since the all star break so I?m happy with him.
