Got to love our center rotation as well. Johan Petro 6 points, 8 rebounds, in 9 minutes of action. Robert Swift 0 points, 3 rebounds, in 7 minutes of action. I haven't seen the game nor the highlights but if the last 20 games are supposed to be about player development, I don't know how many players are improving in less than 10 minutes of action. I hope that I don't read tomorrow that one or both of these guys got injured. I know that Hill probably thought we'd be better off going small b/c of the fact that Phoenix were without Kurt Thomas and Stoudamire but I don't understand why we would go with 5 perimeter players or with 4 perimeters players and Wilcox for an extended period of time when we have an advantage underneath with our young bigs on the block. I know that Swift or Petro can't guard the likes of Marion and Tim Thomas but I would think that if we went zone than we would be able to take advantage of our size on the other end--at the very least with offensive rebounding. Phoenix plays small ball better than any team that I've seen--maybe ever. Why Hill would scrap our conventional line up to try to match 5 perimeter players with their 5 perimeter players is beyond me. That is why we have been 12-21 with Bob Hill is as our coach and Phoenix with a 43-19 record is poised to win the Pacific Division and get a #2 seed all without arguably the best forward in the NBA, Amare Stoudamire. Fire Hill.
I think the problem with Bob Hill right now is his rotation. He's absolutely horrible at knowing who to have in the game and when to take them out or put them in. He wanted a backup point guard so Luke could play less minutes but he's still playing 12 minutes straight at the start of every game and getting tired. He keeps Ray and Rashard in the game way too long in the beginning of halves and is forced to make them play the rest of the way because we're usually down in those situations. And, of course, there are the two young guys who seem to have switched the amount of minutes they were playing last month for no good reason.
