He openly states yesterday that he would like to coach Temple University Basketball team. I don't know what that means for the Rockets, but I'm assuming he is done here. http://www.philly.com/mld/dailynews/sports...01844.htm','361
Well, nothing will happen this early. He's still under contract to the Rockets and we can veto any decision he makes, unless he decides to retire. Frankly, Brunson doesn't have the credentials to be a head coach at a D1 school. He's just getting his name out there to plant some seeds.
who cares, he may have few skills/experience but hes easily replaceable... we can find a replacement in the d league to fill in for him. Plus he might make something out of his career and coach better than he played in the nba.
man this is bs.. first we get fitch and send him to d-league for no reason.. and now brunson wanna coach... so whos gonna be the backup point guard.. if brunson decides to retire and wants to coach we better get fitch back.
Brunson was named by one of the ESPN guys covering the story the day the Chaney announcement was made, as a candidate for the job, So R.Brunson didn't really throw his own name in the mix. I dont think Fitch can be resigned for a month. I Think after a team cuts somebody they have to wait 30 days before you can sign them again, so thats out. I think thats right. I would like to see John Lucas III back for the rest of the season if he is available. Brunson He doesn't really fit into the rebuilding movement the Rockets have found themself in anyway. Its time to rest the old timers and get in some young guys. D League shopping sounds OK. Might as well get the best shooting G or SF available there.
I wouldn't really call it a rebuilding movement over a youth movement. We have more than enough main pieces, but now we need more supporters that compliment our two stars. Younger stars because our older players can, but i think Tmac and Yao is enough veteran leadership.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting THE DREAM:</div><div class="quote_post">doesn't really hurt my feelings to hear this.</div> Well it should hurt, cuz instead of putting his mind and efforts for playoff contention, this sucka wanders off into the moonlight thinking of a coaching job. This just shows how pathetic some of the rocket's supporting cast really is. Brunson should get waved or suspended.. We need players who are 100% willing to put their passion and heart to the rocket organization. He doesn't deserve to put on that rocket shirt. That sucka is a disgrace to the nba.
^^^^ You are kidding right. Playoff chances went out the door with TMac's injury, and I've been one of the most optimistic people, but reality is what it is. If Brunson was brought in here to be anything more than a seat filler I'd kill myself. He's not the guy thats going to make a difference. He does fit in with this team as a guard who Can't hit an open J. "Suspended, disgrace" Somebody's a little upset about the Rockets losing streak. I wouldn't call it a youth movement. Rebuilding the back court should be the main focus. I wouldn't fill it up with young guys, unless it is with a consistent shooter. Other than Yao and TMac and maybe Skip and L.Head the whole teams needs a face lift.
Well I'm talking about drafting these young new style of 2 gaurds. Characteristics of these gaurds: Amazing passing ability with amazing vertical which adds on to their 6'5- 6'7 frame. They can score when necessary. Ex. Ronnie Brewer and Rodney Carney or Adam Morrison(ship has sailed) Even though I am a JJ redick fan, he does not fit into this system that needs guys that can do the above characteristics, but my opinion will go unheard even if the GM was reading this because CD is addicted to getting the shortest gaurds possible.

I was just implying that anybody whoever plays for a team in the nba should focus on their teams goals whoever whether they are brian cook, rickbrunson or kobe bryant especially when they are in a playoff race. Yea your right the playoff hopes are slim, but it doesnt hurt if everyone in the team gives 100 percent and not think of coaching jobs.
if brunson leaves, there are a ton of other serviceable free agent PG's out there... not a big deal and can't say I really care too much.
