    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">TORONTO -- Ben Wallace simply wasn't impressed.

Sure, after three wretched efforts, the Pistons got back to playing with their typical defensive stinginess Sunday against Charlotte. But one game did not make a believer out of Wallace.

"I don't really think Charlotte was a big test to our defense," he said. "Our defense has got to be better. We're making strides."

    Rasheed Wallace agreed.

"We got sidetracked a little bit, but now we're heading towards the right track," he said. "We're not there yet. We ain't got that quickness back yet. But that's what we're working on over these next 20 games."

The Pistons defense might get a better test tonight. The Raptors average 100.4 points a game and scored 106 in their most recent loss to the Pistons.

"Toronto has played very well at home," coach Flip Saunders said. "Both Mike James and Chris Bosh have been great over the last 20 or 25 games."

James, a former Pistons guard, is averaging just under 19 points a game and he hit the winning shot Sunday against the Pacers.

"He's gotten really aggressive and he's making big shots," Saunders said. "Watching them play a lot, he gets a lot of shots in the last five seconds of games. He will put pressure on your defense because he can shoot the three, but he's also improved his game getting to the basket."

Saunders said the Pistons can ill afford to take a step back, even though the next four opponents -- Raptors, Knicks, Bobcats and Hawks -- are lottery-bound.

"You never feel like you're in good shape," he said. "These are all winnable games, but they're all games you have to go out and play. Nobody is going to give you a game."</div>
