I'm surprised no one has started a thread about the blow Big Ben took to his knee in the last couple minutes of their win over the Chargers. When Luis Castillo's helmet collided with Ben's kneecap and he felt back clutching his knee in agony, I thought his season was over. It turns out he has a hyperextended knee and bone bruise. He might even play this week.

The replay of that hit on his knee didn't look good at all. I figured it was going to be serious, and he'd miss quite a few games or even worse the season. Its a good thing it wasn't as bad as it looked on TV. Good news that its not serious for both Roethlisberger and the Steelers.

Yeah, it looked pretty bad! He is tough as nails though.

Even tho' I dont support the Steelers, you gotta respect Big Ben, he was very efficient, yet again against the Chargers!

He may not even be out, apparently there is a chance he will play this weekend. I bet thats great news for the Steeler fans.

Yeah he isn't being rules out. I bet he will be okay although he did leave Heinz Field with crutches, I think he is strong enough to play away. When is their bye week?

Week 4 was their bye week, they just came off of it. It was an ugly sight, but most ACL tears come from hits to the knee from the side. It looked like a hyperextension because of where he got hit. What scared me more than the hit was his reaction. When I blew out my ACL in high school, that's what I looked like. After he got off the field and was sitting on the bench, he wasn't grimmacing in pain. So I wasn't in panic mode. I'm not sure he'll play this week, but count on him being in Cincinnati the week following.

Ya I would think the smart move would be to hold him out a week. One of his keys is his mobility and ability to shed would be sacks..that will be tough to do with a banged up knee. There best move IMO is to hold him out a week to heal it up so he doesn't keep aggravating it everytime he goes out.

Hey it really helps screw with Jacksonville.... they can't prepare if they don't know who the QB is.... Cowher knows already that Ben isn't playing.

I honestly thought he was done for the year when I saw the play. I know the injury isn't that serious but he's a tough one if he plays. That had to hurt!

Maddox is out for 3 weeks with a calf injury so it would be Batch.
