lately, they both have elevated their play homogeneously. odom has been more of a scoring factor, while getting double digits in rebounding and averaging close to double figures in assists. kwame has shown he has the ability to guard the best of the best, playing good D on big ben, timmy, and just last night against KG.

if you put all that into factor, then lets look at garnett. KG has the ability to score, grabs double digits in rebounding, and averages close to double figures in assists, similar to odom. he has the ability to play defense, just like kwame, but kwame has even more room to improve seeing that he is 24, and KG will turn 30 next year.

so all in all, if odom and kwame continue their play, would you still trade them for KG? i'll tell you my thoughts on this later

Absolutely, I still trade for KG. The reason is the 'IF' factor of Lamar Odom and Kwame Brown. With KG there is no 'IF' he shows up every game and you can pencil him in for a double-double. He brings it on both ends and has the hunger to win every single game.

If Kevin McHale was drugged up, would he trade KG for Odom and Kwame? No. Laker fans, wait until Garnett becomes a free agent.

i meant if you take the "if" factor out. if odom and kwame show for the rest of the season they can continue their play. then in the off season, will you trade them for KG?

Yes I would still make the trade because I don't see Kobe being able to win championships with Odom or Kwame. I can definitely see the duo of Kobe and KG winning them.

KG is the perfect compliment player to Kobe, because KG's only weakness is closing out games. However, you pair him with the best closer in the league, Kobe, and the Lakers can win with a weaker supporting cast.

With Kobe and Odom, the Lakers are still two good players away, or one superstar away from getting anywhere.

he will be a free agent in the 08/09 seasons. but there is a huge possibility we will trade for him in the off season since he is unhappy in minny, and IMO wants to play with kobe in LA

Thanks for the info phiLA. It's a tough choice then if Odom and Kwame are playing at a high level. Do I spread out the floor and have more options with two players? Or do I go with a solid player able to play many positions? Hmmm

hmmm if i were the lakers i'd find a way not to trade odom for k.g. hahaha
im sure mitch can't do it but maybe Jerry buss can...
hmmm maybe they could trade bynum or kwame for Boozer then trade Boozer and Bynum/Kwame for K.G. hahaha i dunno i don't know their salaries

I think that KG will never come to LA, if Mitch is the GM of the Lakers. I think Jerry Buss should take over and make the trade. He's at least talking to Glen Taylor. We can just wish for KG

i agree with most. i do believe KG is only just a pipedream, even though everyone's hyping him up to come to LA. i also would trade odom and kwame for KG since like shape and most have said, KG makes us instant contenders, and i just cant see odom or kwame ever holding the nba championship with kobe

I don't want to ditch the Kwame project. If Odom continues to play the way hes playing then I wouldn't really want to trade him either. The chances of getting Garnett really are slim. They say stats can be misleading and Browns stats are misleading. I only wish Odom would continue this type of play.

Don't get me wrong, if it was right there and guaranteed then I'd take Garnett in less than a heartbeat.

the only reason why i would be hesitant at all to make the trade is because of kwame, not odom. it would be great if we could somehow get garnett for odom and some other player. but is highly unlikely. i really like kwame and i think the guy has a load of potential and still has huge room to improve. i love the guys defense and his ability to get offensive boards. one off season with KAJ and we can see a lot of improvement from him IMO
