<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Hornets forward Desmond Mason will miss a minimum of two weeks because of a sprained left MCL. That's a sucker punch to a team in the midst of a seven-game losing streak and in the dubious ninth spot of the playoff race.

Mason was glum after Thursday's practice.

"We'll get treatment on it and see how long it will take," he said.

"Doctor said two to four weeks, but I had the same injury a few years ago, and I played 10 days later. I played with a brace, but I was effective. ... It's going to take a lot of work and dedication to get it back, but I'm willing to do that."</div>

If it's a small tear in the MCL he'll need to stay off the court period. His explosiveness won't be there until May. Time for all Hornets to step up (except for Paul & West) or find a new hometown.

It is really going to hurt because he is the only guy (outside CP3) truly capable of creating his own shot on a regular basis.

The rest need Chris Paul's passing or some good screens.

Man, I had the Hornets as my sleeper pick for this year too. Right there at the draft, when it was a sure thing that they drafted Chris Paul. I said that the Hornets are making it... why must you guys fail on me now? -.-

Now Mason has a knee injury.... this is great.
