<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OAKLAND - The Warriors are adding to fans' disappointment from a lost season by raising ticket prices.

The team announced Thursday a 15 percent weighted increase for the 2006-07 season. It's the second time the Warriors have increased ticket prices since the renovation of the Arena in Oakland prior to the 1997-98 season. The increase will not affect upper level seats. Club seats, which this year ranged from $83 to $98, will range next season from $98 to $120.

"I'd love to be sitting here having a conversation about going to the playoffs and these are our prices for next season," team president Robert Rowell said before Thursday's game. "But we're not. However, we still have to move our business forward and do the things that are necessary so that we can get there."

Rowell noted that the Warriors still would have some of the lowest prices in the league, and that season ticket-holders who renew will receive a 5 percent discount. The ticket exchange program -- which allows season ticket-holders to re-sale individual game tickets through Ticketmaster -- will be available to the entire lower bowl as opposed to just the club seats.
Rowell said the Warriors needed to increase prices to stay competitive. They have increased their payroll from $18 million to $58 million over the last 10 years.</div>

That's strange.... my season tickets are $25 per seat. I'd be OK with a 15% increase ($3.75) however when I log into my account, it shows my renewal price of $1634.00 (last year the full 43 games was $1075). $1634 / 43 games = $38.00 per game per seat [IMG]

This is a total joke. They're lucky to have the attendance they already have with such a chronically horrible team, even after the dissapointing season they decide to take advantage of the fans and raise the prices. I would understand this if the team was actually winning or had been winning in the recent past but come on, its just dissapointment after dissapointment with this franchise.

My guess is attendance will take a hit next year, the hype around the Warriors has died and its even less appealing to go with increased ticket prices.

You're right, but the only way to get the owner out is to not show up to the games. So season ticket owner's should option to not renew their tickets and drive Cohan out of town.

When we start winning more home games than we lose, maybe tickets will seem like they are worth it... we can't even win with home court advantage.

The sad thing is, the Warriors will sell-out agin next year, even if they bring back Mookie Blaylock to run the point along your main man downtown bomber D-Fish.

We -- the W's fans -- are way too loyal.

It says the lower bowl tickets from $83 to $98, will range next season from $98 to $120.

That's more than a 15% increase, too. For example,
    $120 - 98 = $22
    $22/98 = 22%

I'm pretty sure STH aren't going to renew so there will be good single game tickets available. Even then I might not want to go [IMG].

    Blame Mullin [IMG].

It seems idiotic to raise the ticket price when this season was probably the most disappointing one in last 10+ years. However, we are scheduled to pay at least 64 mils next year, probably top 10 payroll in the league and the most in Warriors history, so it really is no surprise that the ticket price will rise...
